After seven years away, Urbanscapes 2026 brings 16 days of free art, music, food and culture to Kuala Lumpur from 31 October to 15 November 2026.
Malaysia’s longest-running creative platform is going back to basics, putting the artists, musicians, makers and communities who have shaped it since 2002 front and centre. The return also kicks off the build-up to its 25th anniversary in 2027.
Made Different: The Spirit Behind Urbanscapes 2026
Made Different is the common thread linking every edition, celebrating people with distinct perspectives and ways of creating. As a commissioning platform, Urbanscapes 2026 gives these voices space to turn their ideas into work others can experience, together forming a love letter to Kuala Lumpur.
“For this return, we’re going back to basics by starting with the people and the ideas they want to share, and building the experiences around them,” said Adrian Yap, Founder of Urbanscapes.
“Our focus is on giving each voice room to be heard and each piece of work the attention it deserves, rather than on the scale of the production,” he added.
The Urbanscapes 2026 programme unfolds through two strands: Everyday Inspiration and Shared Moments.
Everyday Inspiration: Udara Fest at TRX
Everyday Inspiration brings commissioned work into public spaces, letting people encounter art as part of their day. At TRX, Studio Soüfflé’s Udara Fest places a series of large-scale inflatables along a continuous walking route.
Their playful forms contrast with the clean lines of the financial district, inviting visitors to pause and see familiar surroundings in a new way.
Shared Moments at Urbanscapes 2026
Shared Moments brings people together through music, exhibitions, conversations, workshops and food, reconnecting familiar communities while introducing new voices.
CRE.ATE 2026 by Cult Creative at Sky Society KL

The opening weekend welcomes CRE.ATE 2026 by Cult Creative from 30 October to 1 November, bringing content creators and independent businesses together through talks, workshops, a marketplace and community activities. Voices including Shalma Ainaa, Kim May Chee and Dee Alimin will share how they built their businesses and creative careers.
Past Forward at Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad

Also on the opening weekend, Past Forward: Heritage Meets Tomorrow brings musicians, workshops and talks to Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad on 31 October and 1 November, alongside the Shell Café Barista Cup showcasing barista talent.
As Official Coffee Partner, Shell Café will serve handcrafted coffee and pastries from its mobile truck across three venues, along with an exclusive “KL Story On Every Cup” tumbler collection designed by Malaysian artists Dania Mah (thatDania) and Adnin (Graphnin).
Long Time No See at APW Bangsar

On 7 November from 11am to midnight, Long Time No See celebrates the people, places and memories that shaped Kuala Lumpur in the late 2000s. Mimosa revisit the sounds of the era, while a Palate Palette pop-up and Back In Service food collaborations reunite familiar faces from the city’s dining scene.
Night Shift Exhibition

Night Shift, an exhibition at APW Bangsar curated by Roshan Menon and Callen Tham, looks back at Kuala Lumpur’s nightlife between 1997 and 2003. Running from 7 to 14 November alongside panel talks and a day party, it uses flyers, posters, photographs and interviews to show how clubs became spaces for music, design and community.
Sunny Days at TRX

The closing weekend brings Sunny Days, a next-gen block party, to TRX on 14 and 15 November from 12pm to 10pm. Expect emerging voices across music, fashion, food, design and street culture, with Off The Track curating the Sunny Stage.
Spritzer Story Sessions, a documentary-style series, offers a closer look at the people behind these experiences, while Official Hydration Partner Spritzer supports artists, crew and vendors and runs a Hydration House at Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad and TRX.
