Malaysia’s live music scene is set to welcome a mix of regional and homegrown talent as the Tiger Roar Asian Music Festival takes place on 31 October 2026 at the Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC) in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
The event will bring together artists from different generations and music backgrounds, including Hong Kong rock musician Paul Wong and Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter ØZI.
Beyond the performances, the festival reflects the growing space for Asian artists to connect with local audiences through music, culture and shared experiences.
Asian Music Icons Share One Stage
The festival features seven acts covering rock, R&B, M-pop and hip-hop, offering audiences a chance to experience different sides of Asia’s music scene.
Among the headliners is Paul Wong, a member of Hong Kong rock band Beyond. His appearance brings a familiar name to fans who grew up listening to the band’s music.
Joining him is ØZI, known for blending R&B, hip-hop and contemporary sounds.
Malaysia will also have a strong presence through five local acts:
- 3P – A Malaysian singer-dancer trio.
- ManHanD – A Cantonese hip-hop group.
- Dato’ Maw – An independent hip-hop artist.
- Elva Suyan – A rapper, singer and songwriter.
- S.A.C – A Chinese hip-hop duo.
The mix of established regional names and Malaysian performers gives local artists a platform alongside musicians from the wider Asian music scene.

Celebrating Courage Through Music
The festival forms part of Tiger Beer’s Roar With Courage campaign, which encourages people to reflect on moments when they overcame uncertainty or self-doubt.
According to Julie Kuan, Marketing Manager of Tiger Beer Malaysia, the event aims to bring individual stories together through music.
“Every courageous act starts with an individual, but it becomes more powerful when others recognise it,” she said.
The campaign also introduced Tiger Courage Beats, a digital experience that allows participants to turn personal stories into songs using artificial intelligence.
Users can select a music genre, voice and language before the platform generates a personalised song. The finished content can be shared through audio and visual formats on social media.
This combination of music and AI offers an example of how digital tools are becoming part of audience engagement in entertainment campaigns.
Malaysia’s Role in Asia’s Live Music Scene
Music festivals provide more than a stage for performers. They also create opportunities for event organisers, production teams, technical crews and other businesses involved in live entertainment.
For Malaysia, events featuring regional and local artists can help strengthen connections within Asia’s creative community.
The Tiger Roar line-up reflects this regional mix. Established musicians share the programme with newer and independent performers, while different languages and music styles reach audiences at the same venue.
Such events also offer opportunities for local talent to gain exposure among fans who follow artists from other Asian markets.
Although the festival’s economic impact has not been disclosed, its cross-border line-up highlights Malaysia’s continued participation in the regional live entertainment scene.

The Tiger Roar Asian Music Festival offers another opportunity for Malaysian audiences to experience artists from across the region without travelling abroad.
With local performers sharing the stage alongside established Asian musicians, the event also draws attention to the diversity of talent within Malaysia’s music industry.
As regional music continues to reach audiences across borders, festivals like this can help build stronger connections between artists, fans and the wider creative community.
