Flavours of KLCC made its debut recently as the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) brought Chinese, Malay, Indian and Western-inspired dishes together under one roof, giving clients and partners an early look at what is to come in 2027.
Introduced as a new annual showcase, the inaugural evening presented the Centre’s culinary and event offerings for the year ahead – from festive spreads inspired by Chinese New Year and Hari Raya to options for conferences, corporate gatherings, celebrations and private functions.

Food at the Heart of Every Event
Robert Hatton-Jones, Deputy General Manager of the Centre, said the showcase allowed clients and partners to experience the breadth of the Centre’s offerings across different occasions.
“Food plays an important role in how people experience an event. Flavours of KLCC provides us with an opportunity to bring together some of the work our teams have been developing for different occasions throughout the year, and for our clients and partners to experience it for themselves. We hope it gives them a better sense of what is possible and perhaps sparks some ideas for their next event with us,” said Robert.

A Milestone Year for the Centre
The showcase caps a landmark 2026. Earlier this year, the Centre became the first purpose-built venue in Malaysia to achieve ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management certification and received the Prime Minister’s Hibiscus Award for Sustainable Convention and Exhibition Centres, adding to its Green Building Index certification and multiple 2025 awards.
The Centre has hosted 43 international conferences in 2026, welcoming more than 40,093 delegates, and has 27 conferences confirmed for 2027, expected to attract more than 27,170 delegates.

Menus Shaped Around Every Occasion
As the Centre prepares for another year of conferences, meetings and celebrations, its culinary team continues to tailor menus to the occasion, audience and format – from festive celebrations rooted in familiar traditions to meeting menus built around the pace of business events.
Chef Hisham Jaafar, Executive Chef of the Centre, said Flavours of KLCC brought together the different culinary experiences developed for the Centre’s diverse range of events.
“Every event has its own character, and the menu should reflect that. Our role is to understand the occasion, the guests and the experience our clients want to create, then translate that into food that is memorable, well-executed and enjoyable. Flavours of KLCC gave us a platform to showcase that thinking through the dishes and experiences we have developed for the year ahead,” said Chef Hisham.

Flavours of KLCC Highlights: From Kambing Panggang to Laksa Sarawak
Master Carver Kambing Panggang, Signature Prosperity & Heritage Yee Sang and Laksa Sarawak were among the highlights, alongside appetisers, mains, desserts and live culinary stations.

The line-up offered a glimpse of the festive and meeting menus in development, pairing Malaysian flavours with a wider selection of cuisines for different occasions and guests. After Chef Hisham’s walkthrough, guests explored the stations as the Malaysia Youth Philharmonic Orchestra performed.

In-House Technical Production Takes the Spotlight
The evening also featured the Centre’s expanded internal technical production team, introduced earlier this year, whose capabilities – including digital content production for advertising, drone shooting and photography – showed how growing in-house capacity can complement the planning, delivery and content needs of events.

Setting the Stage for 2027
With its inaugural edition, Flavours of KLCC sets the stage for the Centre’s 2027 offering, bringing together food, hospitality, event expertise and technical production to help clients and partners shape memorable occasions.
Managed by Convex Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd and Legends Global, the Centre was the first venue in Asia to receive AIPC Gold Certification. For updates, visit klccconventioncentre.com.
