As more businesses explore artificial intelligence (AI), turning early experiments into working systems remains a challenge. High infrastructure costs, complex setups and long deployment times can slow progress.

Lenovo is looking to address these barriers with Lenovo AI Express, a new programme developed in collaboration with NVIDIA. Announced in Kuala Lumpur, the initiative offers businesses a faster way to deploy AI infrastructure, with eligible configurations ready to ship in as little as 15 business days.

The move comes as companies across Malaysia and the wider Asian region seek practical ways to use AI in daily operations, from improving customer service to managing business data.

Making Enterprise AI More Accessible with Lenovo AI Express

AI adoption is moving beyond experimentation. Businesses increasingly want systems that can support real workloads without requiring major infrastructure investments from the start.

According to Lenovo’s 2026 CIO Playbook, organisations moving towards wider AI adoption expect an average return of US$2.79 for every US$1 invested. The study also found that 93% of enterprise respondents anticipate positive returns.

These figures reflect business expectations rather than guaranteed outcomes. Actual returns depend on how organisations implement and manage their AI systems.

Lenovo AI Express aims to make deployment more manageable by offering pre-validated infrastructure configurations. Businesses can begin with a setup that matches their current needs and expand as demand increases.

Three AI Infrastructure Options for Different Business Needs

Rather than offering a single system, Lenovo has introduced three Lenovo AI Express configurations designed for different workloads and organisational requirements.

Small: Supporting Early AI Adoption

The small configuration is designed for focused AI tasks involving tens of users. It uses Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650a V4 servers powered by two NVIDIA RTX 6000 PRO Blackwell Server Edition GPUs.

Eligible orders can ship from 15 business days, making this an option for organisations beginning their enterprise AI journey.

Medium: Handling Growing AI Workloads

The medium configuration supports hundreds of users and more demanding applications, including AI agents that can carry out multi-step tasks.

Built on Lenovo ThinkSystem SR675 V3 infrastructure, it uses eight NVIDIA RTX 6000 PRO Blackwell Server Edition GPUs. Shipping starts from 20 business days for eligible orders.

Large: Supporting Enterprise-Scale Operations

For organisations managing larger AI systems, the large configuration uses Lenovo ThinkSystem SR680a V4 infrastructure powered by NVIDIA HGX B300.

It is designed to support thousands of users and complex generative AI workloads, with eligible shipping timelines starting from 25 business days.

These timelines refer to order-to-shipment, not complete deployment. Availability and performance also depend on configuration, workload and regional eligibility.

Reducing Barriers to AI Deployment

Infrastructure is only one part of adopting AI. Businesses also need technical support, suitable software and reliable systems to keep operations running.

Lenovo AI Express includes services covering AI planning, proof-of-concept testing and infrastructure optimisation. Customers can also choose enterprise software from NVIDIA and Red Hat, alongside data protection options from Veeam.

Lenovo’s Premier Support Plus for Servers adds proactive support features intended to identify potential problems earlier.

Ashley Gorakhpurwalla, President of Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group, said the programme is designed to help organisations deploy AI according to their needs while reducing the risk of excessive infrastructure spending or delays.

What This Means for Malaysia’s Digital Economy

For Malaysian businesses, access to more flexible AI infrastructure could support digital transformation across several industries, in line with wider efforts to grow Malaysia’s digital economy.

Manufacturers may explore AI for production monitoring, while financial institutions can use it to process information and improve internal workflows, as seen in digital transformation efforts in local banking. Service businesses could also benefit from faster data analysis and customer support systems.

However, infrastructure alone does not guarantee successful adoption. Companies still need skilled employees, clear business goals and responsible data management.

For smaller enterprises, the ability to begin with a more limited Lenovo AI Express setup may offer a practical route towards AI adoption without committing immediately to large-scale systems.

Supporting Asia’s Growing AI Ecosystem

The collaboration between Lenovo and NVIDIA also reflects a wider shift in the technology industry. Infrastructure providers are increasingly combining hardware, software and support services to make enterprise AI easier to implement.

Lenovo plans to distribute the programme through its global partner network, including the Lenovo 360 framework. Local availability and ordering requirements will vary by market.

For technology partners and service providers across Asia, such programmes may create opportunities to help businesses plan, deploy and maintain AI systems.

Looking Ahead

As AI becomes part of everyday business operations, companies will need infrastructure that can grow alongside their requirements.

Lenovo AI Express offers one approach to reducing deployment delays and simplifying the move from AI testing to practical use.

For Malaysia and the wider region, the longer-term opportunity lies in helping more businesses turn AI investment into measurable improvements in productivity and operations.
