The Pos Malaysia electric three-wheeler, the country’s first for last-mile delivery, was showcased during the company’s World Post Day 2026 celebration, marking another step towards greener deliveries.

The new vehicle is part of the national postal service provider’s efforts to improve delivery efficiency while reducing its environmental impact. The event also saw the launch of a commemorative stamp and recognition of employees and young stamp collectors.

Held under the theme “One Postal Network, Infinite Possibilities”, the celebration highlighted how postal services continue to evolve to meet the needs of Malaysian households, businesses and communities.

A New Step Towards Sustainable Deliveries

The Pos Malaysia electric three-wheeler is designed to support parcel deliveries, particularly in busy urban areas where space and traffic can make daily operations challenging.

Compared with conventional delivery motorcycles, the Pos Malaysia electric three-wheeler is intended to offer better parcel-carrying capacity and improved safety while producing zero tailpipe emissions.

Units of the Pos Malaysia electric three-wheeler are planned to be introduced progressively into its delivery operations, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.

The move builds on the company’s existing fleet of electric motorcycles and vans, part of a sustainability push previously recognised through the Forward Faster CEO Award 2024.

According to Pos Malaysia, one in every three parcels it delivers is now transported using an electric vehicle.

This reflects a wider shift towards sustainable logistics in Malaysia, where delivery operators must balance growing parcel demand with operating costs and environmental concerns.

Improving Delivery Services Across Malaysia

Beyond electric vehicles, Pos Malaysia has been upgrading its network to provide faster and more reliable services.

With more than 200 years of history, the company currently serves over 11 million addresses nationwide through more than 3,000 service touchpoints.

Its network also plays an important role in connecting businesses and communities across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.

Recent improvements reported by the company include:

Pos Malaysia also operates two dedicated aircraft serving Sabah and Sarawak, supporting deliveries between East and Peninsular Malaysia.

These improvements matter as more Malaysians depend on online shopping and parcel delivery services for everyday purchases and business activities.

Supporting Malaysia’s Growing E-Commerce Economy

Reliable delivery services are especially important for small businesses selling products online.

For local entrepreneurs, faster deliveries can help improve customer satisfaction and make it easier to serve buyers beyond their immediate communities.

Investments such as the Pos Malaysia electric three-wheeler, alongside digital systems and network improvements, could also support more efficient logistics operations as e-commerce activity continues to develop.

World Post Day 2026 Celebrates Postal Heritage

Alongside its delivery innovations, Pos Malaysia launched a special stamp collection to commemorate World Post Day 2026.

The collection celebrates the role of postal networks in connecting people and creating opportunities across communities.

The commemorative items include:

  • World Post Day 2026 stamp – RM1.30
  • First Day Cover with Stamp – RM1.80
  • Folder – RM7.00

The complete collection is priced at RM34.80.

Available from 9 October 2026, the collection can be purchased at 90 Philatelic Bureaus nationwide, selected post offices and the Pos Malaysia online store, while stocks last.

The new release follows earlier Pos Malaysia issues such as the Parrots of Malaysia stamp series, and continues the tradition seen at World Post Day 2024.

The celebration was officiated by Communications Minister Dato’ Seri Fahmi Fadzil, alongside Pos Malaysia board member Datuk Imri Mokhtar.

Recognising Employees and Young Stamp Collectors

The event also celebrated people who contribute to Malaysia’s postal services.

Through the Wira Award 2026, Pos Malaysia recognised outstanding employees in postal delivery, courier services, retail operations and customer service.

Meanwhile, the KESEF 2026 Stamp Folio Competition encouraged students and teachers to explore Malaysian culture through stamp collecting.

Under the theme “Rentasan budaya, cerita Malaysia melalui setem”, the competition recognised winners across five categories, from primary school to pre-university and teachers.

The initiative showed how stamps can remain useful tools for education, creativity and cultural storytelling, even as communication becomes increasingly digital.

Building a More Connected and Sustainable Future

Pos Malaysia’s World Post Day celebration brought together two important parts of its identity: a long postal heritage and the need to modernise.

Its move towards electric vehicles reflects changing expectations in the logistics industry, where delivery speed, reliability and environmental responsibility are becoming increasingly important.

For Malaysians, the wider benefit lies in more dependable services, better connections between regions and continued support for local commerce.

As the Pos Malaysia electric three-wheeler moves towards rollout and Pos Malaysia expands its electric fleet and improves its nationwide network, its progress could offer a useful example of how established service providers can adapt to a changing economy.
