More than 2,500 participants gathered at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) for the Him and Her Health Run 2026 Penang, turning the event into a vibrant community effort that combined fitness, fundraising, and health awareness.
Organised by Yayasan MR D.I.Y., the run brought together people of all ages in support of cancer and heart disease patients, while encouraging healthier lifestyles through community participation.
The event was officiated by Madam Tan Lean Kee, Chairperson of Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara Pulau Pinang and wife of the Penang Chief Minister, who joined participants during the flag-off session.
Supporting Patients Through Community Action
Proceeds from the run will be channelled towards helping underprivileged cancer and heart disease patients cover treatment and related medical expenses.
The initiative reflects a growing effort to combine public participation with meaningful social impact, allowing communities to contribute to important healthcare causes while promoting wellness.
By bringing together thousands of participants, the event highlighted the role community-driven programmes can play in supporting individuals facing serious health challenges.
More Than Just a Run

Beyond the race itself, participants enjoyed a range of activities designed to promote active living and community engagement.
A lively Zumba warm-up session, interactive games, and activity booths created a family-friendly atmosphere throughout the day. The programme encouraged participants not only to stay active but also to learn more about healthy lifestyle habits.
The event’s mix of fitness and community activities helped create an inclusive environment for participants of different ages and backgrounds.
Nationwide Initiative Continues
Following the strong turnout in Penang, the Him and Her Health Run 2026 will continue its nationwide journey with upcoming stops in Kuching on 19 July 2026 and Kuala Lumpur on 18 October 2026.
The series forms part of Yayasan MR D.I.Y.’s broader fundraising and community outreach efforts, aimed at supporting health-related causes across Malaysia.
Organisers hope to build on the momentum from Penang and encourage even more Malaysians to take part in future events.
