Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) has launched the ECRL Mobile Exhibition Truck 2026, a community engagement initiative aimed at bringing updates about the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) directly to the public.
The programme comes as the ECRL project reaches 94% overall completion, with testing and commissioning activities expected to begin soon ahead of commercial operations in January 2027.
Bringing Information Directly to Communities
The mobile exhibition will travel to selected locations across Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan between 3 June and 15 July 2026.
Designed as a travelling information centre, the truck allows visitors to learn more about ECRL routes, connectivity benefits, and the project’s impact on local communities and businesses.
Visitors can also take part in surveys, digital activities, and interactive sessions while collecting exclusive ECRL souvenirs.
Supporting Public Awareness Ahead of Operations

MRL said the initiative forms part of its ongoing public engagement efforts as the railway enters its final stages of construction.
The programme also aims to improve public awareness on safety matters as electrical systems along the rail corridor become operational during the testing phase.
According to MRL, accessible and accurate information will help communities better understand the project and its future role in improving mobility across the East Coast.
ECRL Nears Completion
The 665-kilometre ECRL is on track for the completion of the Kota Bharu–Gombak alignment by the end of 2026, before commercial operations begin in January 2027.
Meanwhile, the Gombak–Port Klang section is expected to be completed by December 2027 and fully operational in January 2028.
Once completed, the railway is expected to strengthen connectivity between the East Coast and the Klang Valley while supporting regional economic growth and investment opportunities.
Tour Starts in Pahang

The roadshow begins at Dataran Bentong on 4 June, followed by stops at Felda Mempaga, UMPSA Pekan, and East Coast Mall Kuantan before continuing to other locations across the East Coast.
The initiative reflects MRL’s efforts to ensure communities remain informed as one of Malaysia’s largest infrastructure projects moves closer to operation.
