Shalini Krishnan - Columnist, Semangat

Shalini taught English to primary schoolchildren for 18 years and still runs a free weekend reading corner in her neighbourhood. She believes every taman has a hero nobody has written about yet. Semangat is where she finds them: the volunteers, caretakers, teachers and neighbours whose spirit holds communities together, telling their stories in their own words. She is based in Ipoh.
