
Yayasan Hasanah (Hasanah), Malaysia’s leading impact-driven foundation, has awarded the Hasanah Special Grant (HSG) 2024 to 28 civil society organisations (CSOs). These grants will drive impactful projects that support poverty alleviation, gender equality, environmental sustainability, education, and economic resilience—all aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Investing in Communities for a Sustainable Future
The selected grantees will implement a Community-Based Approach (CBA) model, focusing on:
- Income Security & Economic Growth – Skill-building programs, job creation, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
- Health & Well-being – Supporting vulnerable groups with tailored interventions.
- Education & TVET Training – Enhancing skills for long-term employability.
- Community Leadership & Industry Partnerships – Strengthening self-sufficiency and empowerment.
These projects aim to benefit 1,952 individuals and create 521 job opportunities, driving real, lasting change in communities that need it most.

28 Inspiring Projects Making a Difference

Hasanah’s 2024 grant recipients include initiatives that uplift B40 communities, women, parolees, Orang Asli, and rural youth. Notable projects include:
- Women of Will: Empowering 200 low-income women with skills to start sustainable businesses.
- The Forest Transformation Malaysia Earthworm: Supporting Orang Asli communities in Pahang through farming and eco-tourism.
- Ana CB Enterprise: Helping B40 women in Baling, Kedah, gain advanced sewing skills for economic independence.
- Carsome Academy: Preparing rural youth for automotive sector careers.
- Good Shepherd Services: Addressing extreme poverty in Tongod, one of Malaysia’s poorest districts.
These projects highlight Hasanah’s dedication to fostering resilience, economic empowerment, and sustainable community growth.

Since its inception, Hasanah has partnered with 674 organisations, reaching 3.47 million people nationwide across its five focus areas:

With support from the Ministry of Finance, the Hasanah Special Grant will continue to expand, ensuring more grassroots-led, community-driven projects flourish across Malaysia.
