KUALA TERENGGANU: Better access to sports facilities, financial assistance and support for youth activities were among the issues highlighted by young people during the Terengganu leg of KIBAR 2026, the Youth and Sports Ministry’s (KBS) nationwide grassroots youth programme.
Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Mordi Bimol said feedback gathered throughout Kembara Inspirasi Belia Akar Umbi (KIBAR) 2026 would help the ministry identify areas for improvement and ensure future programmes remain relevant to the needs of young people.

What Terengganu Youths Raised at KIBAR 2026
The Terengganu state-level programme was held at the Terengganu State Water Sports Complex in Pulau Duyong on October 30, 2026, bringing together young participants from across the state.
Among the key issues they raised with the ministry:
- Better access to sports facilities
- Financial assistance
- Support for youth activities
According to Mordi, the programme’s engagement sessions gave participants the chance to interact directly with ministry leaders and raise issues affecting youth development in their respective communities.

Measuring Success Beyond Attendance Numbers
Mordi said responses from participants had generally been positive, but the effectiveness of the initiative should not be measured by attendance figures alone.
The level of participation and the views expressed by young people, he added, were equally important in assessing whether the programme was achieving its intended objectives.
Speaking to reporters at the Terengganu state-level KIBAR programme, he said:
“We are not focusing solely on urban areas, but are also reaching out to youths in rural communities. As such, we will review its implementation to identify areas for improvement in future editions.”

More Than Sports Facilities and Grants
Mordi said the ministry also wanted the public to have a broader understanding of its responsibilities, which extend beyond providing sports facilities and distributing grants.
That broader role was on show in Terengganu, where a dialogue session led by KIBAR 2026 moderator Muhammad Muhairi Jasmani saw Mordi share the stage with Terengganu Youth Council president Mukhri Mamat in front of a young audience.

KIBAR 2026 Heads to Pahang for Its Final Stop
Terengganu is the 16th stop in the 17-part KIBAR 2026 nationwide tour, which began in April. Pahang is scheduled to be the final destination.
The initiative aims to reach young people who are not affiliated with associations and encourage greater participation in community development activities. For more on other youth-focused efforts, read how foodpanda extended pandapro perks to Rakan Muda.

With one stop left, the feedback collected across the tour will feed into the ministry’s review of KIBAR for future editions. Details on the ministry’s youth programmes are available on the Youth and Sports Ministry official website.
