It’s Pinktober again! Pinktober 2023 is back with exciting fundraising events and free breast screenings for you to contribute and raise awareness on this Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
What Is Pinktober?

Pinktober is a worldwide initiative to increase awareness of breast cancer that takes place during the month of October. The event features pink ribbon, pink-themed merchandise, illuminated landmarks, and fundraising events. The aim is to increase awareness, encourage regular screenings, and raise funds for research into the disease’s causes, prevention, and treatment.
Early Detection In Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a condition where cancer cells form in the breast tissue, causing the growth of malignant cells within healthy cells. This growth can infect nearby tissues or spread via metastasis. Malignant tumors can detach from the primary tumor and invade lymphatic or blood arteries, causing damage to the body when they invade new areas.
You may fear getting breast cancer and how fatal it can be. With regular screenings or self-exams, early detection of breast cancer is possible.
Breast Self-Exam

Breast self-exams are recommended a few days after the end of the period for menstruating women. Post-menopausal women can perform a self-exam on the same day of each month, either on the 1st or the 15th day. They help familiarize women with their breasts’ appearance and feel, and they can detect cancer early. If you notice a sore spot, new lump, appearance change of the skin, or nipple discharge, notify healthcare professionals.

2. Kevin Murphy & Montibello

- Place: KL Eco Concourse
The Australian and Spanish haircare brands, Kevin Murphy and Montibello, and local distributor R Beaute are hosting basic hairstyling services which include curling and straightening, and discounted hair prices as a charity in conjunction with Pinktober.
3. Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara

- Date: 20th – 27th October 2023
