i-City has launched AI Living @ i-City, a new vision for residential living in Shah Alam that brings together intelligent home technology, robotics, wellness and connected services to make everyday life more convenient, supportive and responsive to residents’ needs.
At the heart of the resident experience is i-Ris, the AI Companion for AI Living @ i-City. Designed to understand residents’ needs and preferences, i-Ris will help them interact with their homes and coordinate authorised technologies and services across the living environment, giving residents one consistent way to access home functions and services.

What Is AI Living @ i-City?
AI Living goes beyond the connected smart home. It combines home automation with practical robotics, personal wellbeing tools, an AI Companion and access to trusted knowledge and services, bringing these capabilities together as part of a wider residential experience.
The emphasis is on how these capabilities work together to support residents in everyday life. Within this ecosystem, the i-Ris AI Companion is intended to serve as a familiar point of interaction, helping coordinate authorised services across the home and the wider living environment.
The 500-Unit i-Ris Tower, Designed for Domestic Robotics
The first residential expression of this vision is the 500-unit i-Ris tower, which is being designed with domestic robotics in mind from the outset. Its residential layouts, circulation paths, service areas and infrastructure are planned to support intelligent machines as well as human residents.

A Digital-First Campaign Ahead of the i-Ris Showroom
i-City is introducing AI Living through a digital-first campaign beginning in October 2026. The campaign is designed to help Malaysians understand what AI Living means for homebuyers, and how AI and robotics could become part of residential life by 2030.
In the AI era, introducing a new way of living calls for a new way of reaching and engaging homebuyers. i-City and its four appointed property agencies will lead with videos, social media content and digital advertising to explain AI Living, build awareness and prepare buyers for the showroom experience.
The next stage will be the opening of the i-Ris residence showroom at the AI World Experience Centre (AIWEC) in January 2027, where prospective buyers will be able to experience elements of AI Living and learn more about the i-Ris residential development.
Datuk Firdaus, Chairman of Firdaus & Associates, the lead marketing agency for the i-Ris residential development, said the campaign is intended to make an unfamiliar proposition easier for homebuyers to understand.
“Our challenge is not merely to market residential units, but to help prospective buyers appreciate how technology can transform the way they live. From intelligent home automation to AI-assisted security, elderly care and lifestyle management, we are introducing a concept that goes beyond the traditional smart home.”
Datuk Firdaus, Chairman of Firdaus & Associates
“The digital-first launch enables us to reach a wider audience, create awareness and build understanding before buyers visit the showroom,” he added. “The physical showroom will then provide a more personalised experience, allowing prospective purchasers to better appreciate the concept and make informed purchasing decisions.”
A New Dimension for Malaysia’s Residential Property Market
According to Datuk Sr Paul Khong, Group Managing Director of Savills Malaysia, AI Living @ i-City represents an evolution in Malaysia’s residential property market.
“Traditionally, residential properties are differentiated by location, design, facilities and pricing. AI Living now introduces a new dimension where intelligent services and robotics capabilities are brought to life in residents’ homes and continue throughout the life of the home with consistent upgrades.”
Datuk Sr Paul Khong, Group Managing Director of Savills Malaysia
“This creates a new class of living residential properties, where buyers live beyond just the physical buildings to the wider ecosystem of services powered by AI that supports their next-gen lifestyle,” he said, adding that it raises an important question for the property industry on how AI and robotics will change what homebuyers buy, and what property value enhancement it will bring in future.
Built on i-City’s Technology Track Record
AI Living builds on more than two decades of technology-led development at i-City, and on the technology and robotics ecosystem already taking shape there.
The AI World Experience Centre, developed in collaboration with AgiBot, a leading robotics company from China, showcases more than 100 robots in interactive settings. The i-Ris residence showroom at AIWEC will connect these technologies with potential applications in residential living.
For i-City, AI Living is the next stage in the evolution of its technology-led urban development: a connected residential environment where homes, intelligent systems and services can develop over time.
Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong, Chairman of i-City, said the purpose of AI Living is to apply technology in ways that benefit daily life.
“We believe homes will increasingly be expected to understand, assist and adapt to the people who live in them. i-Ris, our AI Companion, is our vision of how artificial intelligence can make everyday life easier, healthier and more convenient.”
