adidas Hyperrelay brought Malaysia’s running community underground on 12 October 2026 for a fast-paced night of speed, teamwork and Hyperboost. Organised by adidas Malaysia at LahLahLand, MIECC, the 500-metre team relay gathered 16 teams, 80 runners and 11 running clubs, joined by spectators from the wider running and sneaker community.
The event is the latest chapter in the brand’s year-long Hyperboost journey. It also marked adidas’ first running activation at LahLahLand.
What Is adidas Hyperrelay?
Built around the spirit of RUN HYPER, adidas Hyperrelay put teams head-to-head in a high-energy 500-metre relay. Each team fielded five runners, with every member taking on one lap. That meant every handover, every stride and every split second counted.
Hosted in collaboration with LariLAH, the format took running away from the usual road race and into a lit-up underground arena. Runners pushed the pace, worked as a team and experienced running in a whole new way.

Hyperboost Edge Takes Centre Stage
At the heart of the night was the adidas Hyperboost Edge, winner of the 2026 Runner’s World Shoe Award after being tested against more than 100 models. The shoe is designed for a lightweight and responsive ride, and combines three key elements:
- Hyperboost Pro foam
- PRIMEWEAVE upper
- LIGHTTRAXION outsole
Together, they deliver cushioning, energy return and responsiveness across every run. Runners could try the shoe at dedicated trial and display areas, while the four semifinalist teams received adidas running shoes ahead of the final stages, bringing performance straight into the heart of the competition.

Upbound Crowned adidas Hyperrelay Champions
After a series of intense heats, Upbound emerged as the overall champion of adidas Hyperrelay. adidas Hybrid Squad took second place, while Brand New Waves Team 2 finished third.
The top four teams were also recognised during the prize-giving session, celebrating the runners who pushed their pace and carried their teams through every stage of the competition.

More Than a Race for the Running Community
Beyond the track, adidas Hyperrelay turned LahLahLand into a hangout for runners and sneakerheads alike. Music, refreshments, photo opportunities and an after-party kept the energy going after the final race, with DJ JHIN taking over the decks following the semifinal rounds.
The night blended the performance-driven world of running with the venue’s sneaker and youth culture. From runners on the track to supporters in the crowd, everyone shared a space to run, connect and celebrate the culture surrounding the sport.
