Volleyball fans can look forward to an exciting week of competition as the 1 Utama Volleyball Championship 2026 returns from 2 to 7 June 2026.
Organised by 1 Utama Shopping Centre in partnership with the Kuala Lumpur Volleyball Association (KLVA) and Selangor Volleyball Association (SVA), the tournament aims to bring together athletes, families, and sports enthusiasts from across Malaysia.
Growing Interest in Volleyball
The championship has received an overwhelming response since registrations opened, with participation slots filling up quickly.
The strong demand reflects the growing popularity of volleyball in Malaysia, especially among younger athletes seeking more opportunities to compete and develop their skills.
Four Competitive Categories
This year’s tournament will feature four categories, creating opportunities for both emerging and experienced players.
The categories include Under-15 Boys, Under-15 Girls, Open Men, and Open Women, allowing participants from different age groups to showcase their talent on a larger stage.
A Unique Sporting Experience
Unlike traditional indoor venues, the tournament will take place at the Ground Floor Promenade of 1 Utama Shopping Centre.
Visitors can watch matches for free from multiple viewing points across the mall’s three-level open concept design, creating an energetic atmosphere that brings sports closer to the community.
Supporting Youth Development
One of the key highlights this year is the introduction of dedicated Under-15 categories.
The addition gives young athletes valuable competitive exposure during the school holiday season while allowing them to perform in front of thousands of daily visitors.
For many players, it represents an opportunity to gain experience and build confidence as they continue their sporting journey.
More Than Just Volleyball
Adding to the excitement, visitors can also explore the Haikyu!! Pop-Up Store running alongside the tournament.
Inspired by the globally popular volleyball anime series, the pop-up will feature exclusive merchandise, themed displays, collectibles, and interactive photo opportunities for fans.
The combination of sports and entertainment is expected to attract both volleyball enthusiasts and anime fans throughout the week-long event.
Bringing Communities Together
Beyond competition, the 1 Utama Volleyball Championship 2026 highlights the role of sports in building community engagement and encouraging active lifestyles.
By creating a platform for athletes of different ages to compete, the tournament continues to support youth development while strengthening interest in volleyball across Malaysia.
