foodpanda Malaysia has expanded its pandasafe training programme to Penang, marking the initiative’s first rollout in the Northern region.
The latest session, held on 20 May 2026, is part of the company’s broader effort to strengthen safety awareness and support delivery partners through practical training and education.
Building Safer Habits on the Road
Launched in August 2025, pandasafe combines telematics technology with personalised training to help delivery partners improve their riding behaviour.
The programme monitors indicators such as speed compliance, harsh braking, and cornering patterns. The data is then used to provide targeted classroom sessions that address specific safety concerns.
Positive Results from Early Participants

According to foodpanda Malaysia, the programme has reached 250 delivery partners nationwide since its introduction.
Internal data from sessions conducted in the Klang Valley showed that 87.1% of participants improved their safety performance scores, while the remaining participants maintained their performance levels.
These findings suggest that structured interventions can help encourage safer riding habits over time.
Beyond Road Safety
The programme goes beyond riding skills by incorporating broader support for delivery partners.
Participants receive first response and CPR training with Allianz Malaysia, practical riding guidance from Hong Leong Yamaha Motor, financial literacy education from Hong Leong Bank, and social protection awareness through PERKESO.
This multi-partner approach aims to support both personal safety and long-term financial wellbeing.
Supporting Malaysia’s Delivery Workforce

As the delivery economy continues to grow, rider safety remains an important priority for both companies and communities.
By combining technology, education, and industry partnerships, pandasafe seeks to create a stronger culture of safety while helping delivery partners navigate daily challenges with greater confidence.
foodpanda aims to train 400 delivery partners nationwide by the end of 2026 and plans to expand the programme to Kelantan and other East Coast states.
