TP-Link Malaysia is strengthening its talent development efforts through a new collaboration with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), aimed at building a stronger pipeline of enterprise networking professionals in the country.
The partnership reflects growing demand for industry-ready digital talent as Malaysia continues investing in digital infrastructure and enterprise technology development.
Through the three-year collaboration, students will gain direct exposure to enterprise networking systems, technical certifications, and industry-focused training designed to prepare them for real-world workforce requirements.
Bringing Industry Skills Into Universities
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), TP-Link Malaysia will introduce its Omada enterprise networking solutions into selected USIM labs and training environments.
This allows students to work with systems that closely mirror real enterprise infrastructure used across businesses and organisations today.
The programme combines hands-on workshops, technical training, and access to the Omada Certified Network Administrator (OCNA) certification pathway to strengthen practical learning outcomes.
Industry-aligned certifications have become increasingly important as employers place greater emphasis on technical competencies and practical experience alongside academic qualifications.
Building a Direct Path Into Employment

A major focus of the collaboration is improving the transition between university education and industry employment.
Students involved in the programme will have opportunities for industrial training and internship placements with TP-Link Malaysia, providing direct exposure to workplace environments and digital infrastructure operations.
According to TP-Link Malaysia Regional Director Hugo Cai, the goal is not only to educate students, but to create a structured pathway connecting training, certification, and workforce readiness.
As Malaysia’s digital economy expands, companies are increasingly looking for graduates who can operate enterprise systems effectively from the start.
Expanding Malaysia’s Digital Workforce Ecosystem
The collaboration with USIM builds on TP-Link Malaysia’s earlier partnerships with Universiti Malaya and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).
Together, these collaborations form part of a wider ecosystem designed to strengthen enterprise networking talent development across higher education institutions.
In 2025, around 500 students participated in the OCNA certification pathway, highlighting growing interest in industry-linked digital skills programmes.
Beyond technical training, the partnership will also explore collaboration in research, faculty engagement, and knowledge exchange initiatives between academia and industry.
Supporting Malaysia’s Digital Growth

Malaysia’s push toward digital transformation continues increasing demand for skilled professionals in networking, cloud systems, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure.
Industry partnerships like this are becoming increasingly important as universities and companies work together to close skill gaps and improve graduate employability.
As enterprise technology adoption accelerates across sectors, workforce readiness is expected to remain a critical factor in supporting Malaysia’s long-term digital economy ambitions.
Following Malaysia’s Digital Workforce Development
Digital skills and workforce readiness continue shaping Malaysia’s future economy as businesses expand investments in technology infrastructure and enterprise systems.
