This 11.11, Taobao Malaysia is doing more than just launching another mega sale. It’s bringing Malaysians together through language, culture, and community. For the first time ever, Taobao’s legendary 11.11 Global Shopping Festival is fully accessible in three languages: English, Chinese, and Malay. Wouldn’t this make it easier for shoppers from every corner of Malaysia to join the fun?
A Celebration Beyond Discounts
What began in 2009 as a single-day event by Taobao has now become the world’s biggest online shopping festival, far surpassing even Black Friday. This year, Taobao Malaysia is turning the annual shopping frenzy into a nationwide celebration of inclusivity, local convenience, and endless discovery.

Jess Lew, Country Head of Taobao Malaysia said:
“Since introducing our Malay-language interface earlier this year, we’ve seen incredible engagement from local users. This 11.11, we’re making Taobao even more local—more convenient, inclusive, and fun for everyone in Malaysia.”
Localised, Smarter Shopping For Every Malaysian
This year’s 11.11 also marks a major step forward in Taobao’s localisation journey. Malaysians can now browse and shop in English or Malay, with AI-powered translations and a fully localised app experience. Prices are displayed in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR), and local returns are available for eligible items, ensuring a smooth, worry-free shopping experience.
Taobao is also piloting new value-added services for furniture, such as installation support starting in the Klang Valley, to make large-item purchases more convenient for Malaysian households.
With more than 10 million home items, 300 fashion styles, and millions of unique finds, Taobao continues to prove that online shopping can be personal, playful, and accessible to everyone.
Play, Earn, And Celebrate, The Malaysian Way
To add extra excitement, Taobao Malaysia is introducing Taobao Wonderland, a gamified shopping experience where users can collect up to 6,000 Super Coins through daily check-ins and use them for instant rebates during the 11.11 period. Available in both English and Malay, it turns shopping into a rewarding game.
For Malaysians looking to earn while they shop, the Taobao Affiliate Programme offers easy income opportunities through a “Share and Earn” model, with stackable commissions and bonuses of up to RM26 per referral and 30% product-based commissions. Simply enter “AFFILIATE” in the Taobao app search bar to start sharing and earning.
Jess Lew also added:
“This year’s campaign represents our commitment to connecting with every Malaysian across languages, lifestyles, and interests. No matter who you are or what you love, you’ll find it on Taobao.”
