It starts with something most of us wouldn’t think twice about: RM100. A quick grocery run. A few everyday essentials. But through Sri Ternak Group SARA aid, that small amount turned into something far more meaningful this New Year.
Shopping Trolleys To Real Impact
Earlier this month, Sri Ternak Group’s management team stepped away from boardrooms and into their own 24-hour wholesale supermarket in Selayang, not to inspect operations, but to shop with purpose.
Using funds from the Penghargaan SARA: One-off RM100 Cash Assistance, the team purchased essential food items such as rice, sugar, milk, flour, cooking oil, biscuits, and other daily necessities. These supplies were then delivered to Cheshire Home Selangor, a residential care centre that supports individuals with disabilities regardless of race or religion.
Supporting A Home That Supports Many
Beyond the physical supplies, Sri Ternak Group also extended RM5,000 in cash vouchers to Cheshire Home Selangor to help sustain its daily operations. For a care centre that relies heavily on support from the public and private sectors, this contribution offers flexibility. This is to allow the home to prioritise what its residents need most.
The gesture reflects a deeper understanding that assistance should empower, not restrict.
A Broader Commitment Through SARA And MyKasih

According to Datuk Raymond Ho Cheng Hann, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Sri Ternak Group, this initiative aligns with the Group’s ongoing role as an authorised retail merchant under the MyKasih programme.
Through Sri Ternak and ST Rosyam Mart outlets, Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) and Penghargaan SARA beneficiaries can access affordable necessities 24 hours a day across 14 outlets nationwide. Using their MyKad, eligible recipients may purchase items from 14 approved categories, including food staples, personal care products, school supplies, cleaning items, and even Ministry of Health (KKM)-approved medicines.
It’s a system designed not just for convenience, but for dignity.
More Than A Donation, A Call To Act
For Sri Ternak Group, this New Year initiative is not about publicity. It’s about participation. Datuk Raymond shared:
“We hope our collective efforts, even with a modest allocation, can create a meaningful impact,”
Sometimes, change doesn’t arrive loudly. Sometimes, it comes quietly… like packed into grocery bags for those who need it most.
