The roar of the Spartan community echoed across Gamuda Cove as more than 2,000 athletes from 30 countries charged through mud, fire, and obstacles during the Spartan Race Malaysia 2025 Kuala Lumpur Trifecta Weekend. From Iceland to Argentina, competitors converged to test their endurance in what marked a historic new chapter for Spartan Malaysia. That is the first event under the joint management of RUNRIO Thailand and SCORE Sports Management.
A New Era Of Grit
This new partnership, spanning from 2025 to 2027, promises to redefine the Spartan experience across Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Combining RUNRIO’s regional race expertise with SCORE’s event management mastery, the collaboration sets a bold new benchmark for race excellence, without losing sight of Spartan’s defining values: grit, camaraderie, and resilience.
Saddam Pittli And Kim Luu Linh Dominate The Field

In a weekend filled with fierce competition and unrelenting spirit, Malaysia’s Saddam Pittli and Vietnam’s Kim Luu Linh emerged as the ultimate Spartan elites, each conquering both the BEAST (21km, 30 obstacles) and SUPER (10km, 25 obstacles) races.
For Saddam, victory was deeply personal. After nearly a year away from Spartan competitions, his return was nothing short of triumphant. He shared:
“When I found out Spartan was returning to Kuala Lumpur, I knew I had to compete. My goal was simple — to represent Malaysia and make the country proud.”
Despite narrowly missing his target time due to a missed spear throw, Saddam’s performance underscored his strength and determination. Meanwhile, Kim’s back-to-back wins demonstrated her unwavering focus and grace under pressure. She shared:
“This race at Gamuda Cove holds a special place in my heart. It wasn’t my fastest, but it symbolized persistence more than perfection.”
Beyond the elite division, Sergei Kliukin and Ritzy Amor Ectin also stood out, dominating their respective Age Group races. This further proves that Spartan spirit transcends borders.
Strength, Sweat And Spirit

Spartan Malaysia 2025 was a celebration of endurance, teamwork, and community. From the Sprint (5km, 20 obstacles) to the Kids Race (1–3km) and the punishing Hurricane Heat 4HR, participants of all ages embraced the challenge.
Over 400 athletes earned their coveted Trifecta medals, completing three Spartan distances in one weekend. The event’s inclusive nature was highlighted by the presence of YBhg. Dato’ Mohd Yusri bin Mohd Yusoff, Deputy Secretary-General (Culture) of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, who officiated the flag-off ceremony.
Adding royal inspiration, Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil, a long-time Spartan and fitness advocate, once again conquered the course at age 55.
Spartan Malaysia’s Next Chapter
According to Patricia Tan, CEO of SCORE Sports Management, the event’s success proved that Spartan Malaysia’s future is stronger than ever. She said:
“We’re thrilled to see Spartan return with such energy. The turnout, especially from families, was phenomenal.”
The Spartan Kids Race alone saw around 500 participants, with nearly 7,500 people attending over the weekend. She added:
“That’s what Spartan is about — family, community, and legacy,”
RUNRIO Thailand CEO Boonperm Intanapasat echoed her excitement, emphasizing the broader vision behind the partnership. She said:
“This is the start of a three-year journey to make Malaysia a flagship Spartan destination. We’re not just building races; we’re building a movement that promotes sport tourism, business growth, and regional unity.”
With plans to expand into Indonesia and Vietnam, the RUNRIO–SCORE collaboration aims to turn Southeast Asia into a global hub for Spartan events — one where fitness, resilience, and unity meet economic and cultural progress.
The Finish Line Is Just The Beginning

As the dust settles over Gamuda Cove, one truth stands clear – Spartan Malaysia 2025 was more than a race. It was a symbol of revival, partnership, and unstoppable human spirit. For the thousands who crossed the finish line, the words that define the Spartan ethos ring true:
“You’ll know at the finish line.”
