Travelling abroad just became more convenient for Malaysian users. ShopeePay has introduced Travel eSIM services directly within its app, allowing users to purchase and activate mobile data plans before or during their trips overseas.

The new feature is designed to help travellers stay connected without the hassle of purchasing physical SIM cards upon arrival.

Stay Connected Across Popular Destinations

The Travel eSIM service is available for several popular travel destinations, including Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, China, and Singapore.

Users can choose plans based on their travel needs, with flexible durations of up to 31 days. Prices start from as low as RM3.50, making it an affordable option for both short holidays and extended trips.

The digital setup also allows travellers to activate their mobile connectivity as soon as they land.

Quick Setup Within the ShopeePay App

Purchasing a Travel eSIM can be completed in just a few steps within the ShopeePay app.

Users can access the eSIM feature through the “Bills & Payment” section, select their destination, choose a preferred data package, and complete the purchase directly through the platform.

Activation options include direct activation, QR code scanning, or manual setup, providing flexibility across different smartphone models.

Expanding ShopeePay’s Travel Services

The Travel eSIM launch adds to ShopeePay’s growing range of travel-related services.

Beyond mobile connectivity, the platform also offers travel insurance, flight bookings, and hotel reservations, enabling users to manage multiple aspects of their travel plans within a single app.

The integrated approach aims to simplify travel planning while providing greater convenience for Malaysian travellers.

Supporting Digital Travel Experiences

As international travel continues to recover and digital adoption grows, services such as eSIM technology are becoming increasingly popular among travellers seeking faster and more seamless connectivity.

By integrating Travel eSIMs into its ecosystem, ShopeePay is expanding its role beyond digital payments and supporting a more connected travel experience for users across the region.
