When a delivery truck pulls up at a school, it usually carries more than parcels. Sometimes, it carries hope. That’s exactly what’s happening as Pos Malaysia and Kota Buku work together to put recycled exercise books into the hands of students who need them most, turning sustainability into something students can write on, learn from, and grow with.
Delivering Sustainable Education Nationwide
The collaboration between Pos Malaysia and Kota Buku is part of the “Two Million Recycled Exercise Books: Driving Sustainable Education” programme, a nationwide CSR initiative aimed at supporting B40 students while protecting the environment.
Through Phase II of the programme, more than two million recycled exercise books have been distributed to 4,120 Ministry of Education schools, benefitting over 200,000 students across Malaysia. For many families, this support eases financial pressure, contributing to an estimated RM2.4 million in savings.
Turning Recycled Paper Into Real Opportunities

Beyond education, the Pos Malaysia x Kota Buku initiative also makes a strong environmental impact. By producing exercise books entirely from recycled paper, the programme has helped save approximately 2,832 trees, proving that small classroom tools can lead to big environmental wins.
Kota Buku, a government agency under the Ministry of Education, leads the production of these recycled materials.
Why Pos Malaysia’s Logistics Make The Difference
What makes this initiative truly scalable is Pos Malaysia’s unmatched delivery capability. With a last-mile network reaching over 11 million addresses daily and next-day parcel delivery rates exceeding 90%, Pos Malaysia ensures that help arrives where it’s needed, on time, every time.
Through Pos Care, its social impact arm, Pos Malaysia manages the entire delivery process, sending exercise books directly to schools with high B40 enrolment. States prioritised in this phase include Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Kelantan, and Terengganu, with deliveries completed within January 2026.
More Than Books: A Long-Term Commitment to Communities

Each participating school received two cartons, or 400 notebooks, ensuring immediate classroom support for students in need. More importantly, this second-phase involvement reflects a deeper commitment by Pos Malaysia to integrate sustainability and community empowerment into its everyday operations.
As Pos Malaysia and Kota Buku continue working hand in hand, the initiative stands as a reminder that meaningful change doesn’t always come in grand gestures, sometimes, it arrives quietly, one recycled exercise book at a time, helping build a more equitable and sustainable future for Malaysian students.
