Luckin Coffee Malaysia has teamed up with local cartoon IP Bear Boss Buddies for a new lifestyle campaign aimed at younger consumers.
Called “Escape into Grape Fantasy”, the collaboration introduces grape and cherry blossom-inspired drinks alongside exclusive “Wiggly Tail” plushies and fan activities at selected locations.
The campaign reflects how brands are increasingly working with local creators to connect with Gen Z audiences through more relatable and community-driven experiences.
A Collaboration Built Around Friendship

Created by Malaysian artist Dylan Ang, Bear Boss Buddies has gained popularity through its playful characters and themes centred around friendship and belonging.
The collaboration features the trio of Bear Boss, Mao, and Capybara across Luckin Coffee Malaysia’s May campaign, combining local creativity with café culture.
Luckin Coffee Malaysia CEO Dr. Jeff Lim Chee Lip said the partnership aligns with the brand’s focus on youth culture and meaningful social connections.
Local IPs Continue Gaining Attention
Collaborations involving Malaysian creators and homegrown intellectual property are becoming more visible across the retail and lifestyle industry.
Brands are increasingly moving beyond traditional advertising by introducing themed experiences, limited-edition merchandise, and social media-driven campaigns designed to create stronger engagement.
For cafés and beverage brands, these partnerships also help create more memorable customer experiences in a competitive market.
Fan Event Planned at Sunway Square

As part of the launch, fans will also have the chance to meet the Bear Boss Buddies characters at Luckin Coffee Sunway Square on 9 May.
The characters will appear during two special sessions scheduled for 11am and 3pm.
Public activations like these continue to play an important role in attracting younger consumers who value interactive and shareable experiences alongside products.
A Growing Lifestyle Marketing Trend

The collaboration highlights how Malaysia’s café and lifestyle market is evolving through creative partnerships and experience-led campaigns.
As consumer brands compete for attention in crowded urban markets, collaborations with local artists and creators are becoming an increasingly important part of youth-focused marketing strategies.
