Asia’s most exciting LEGO® school competition is back and it’s going global! LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort has officially launched the LEGOLAND® School Challenge 2025, the fourth and biggest edition of the region’s most anticipated LEGO event. Students aged 7 to 17 are invited to put their imagination to the test and compete for extraordinary prizes, including a grand prize trip to LEGOLAND® Korea.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, this year’s challenge is themed “Build Your Dream Destination” giving students the chance to create their ultimate travel-inspired LEGO masterpiece. Whether it’s a futuristic city, a magical island, or an underwater world, the challenge empowers young builders to express their creativity while sharpening design and problem-solving skills.
Why This Year’s Challenge Is Bigger and Bolder

2025 brings new thrills to the table that make this year’s edition truly unmissable. The Challenge now caters to three age groups:
- Junior (7–9 years old)
- Primary (10–12 years old)
- Secondary (13–17 years old)
One of the biggest highlights? The grand prize winners in the Primary and Secondary categories will win an unforgettable trip to LEGOLAND Korea, while Junior category winners will enjoy a vacation at LEGOLAND Malaysia itself. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore LEGO worlds in different countries and gain incredible memories with your team.
Also new in 2025 is the Speed Building Showdown, a high-octane, live finale where the Top 5 teams in each category will go head-to-head in a timed 45-minute LEGO building face-off in front of an audience and judging panel. This dynamic addition ups the stakes and offers an exciting platform to showcase creativity under pressure.
Learning Through Play: Skills That Last a Lifetime

Beyond the competition, the LEGOLAND® School Challenge is built on LEGO’s core philosophy of learning through play. This event helps students develop lifelong skills including critical thinking, teamwork, design, and engineering all while having fun. It’s also a space for cultural exchange, especially with the Challenge now welcoming schools from across Asia.
Among past winners is Nathanael Yap, a three-time grand prize recipient who credits the Challenge for shaping his interests in design and innovation. “It taught me how fun learning can be when you think outside the box,” he shared. His story is just one example of how this competition creates impact far beyond the classroom.
Supported by Top Brands That Believe in Tomorrow’s Creators
The Challenge is proudly backed by the Ministry of Education, Tourism Malaysia, Trip.com Group, and the LEGO Group organisations united by a shared mission to inspire the next generation. Trip.com Malaysia’s General Manager, Stephane Thong, shared that the challenge’s theme of “Build Your Dream Destination” resonates with their commitment to travel and cultural understanding.
From winning LEGO trophies and exclusive LEGO sets to 3D2N stays at the LEGOLAND Hotel and annual passes, every finalist walks away with a treasure trove of rewards and unforgettable experiences.
