As the streets come alive with vibrant red and gold hues, heralding the imminent Chinese New Year (CNY), IJM Seremban 2 proudly maintains its yearly tradition of spreading joy and warmth to the less fortunate.
Assisting Six Less Fortunate Families: IJM Seremban 2 Offers Support To Boost Morale
During the festive season, the property developer embarked on visits to six deserving families in Seremban, spreading the joy of Chinese New Year and emphasizing the importance of family during this auspicious time.
Each family received a generous contribution from IJM Seremban 2 during the house visits, including an Angpow worth RM1,000 for prosperity and blessings, along with a carefully curated grocery package valued at RM600. This package contained essential items such as rice, cooking oil, flour, cookies, and other necessities.
The Senior General Manager of IJM Land Berhad, Mr. Chai Kian Soon highlighted that the Chinese New Year embodies happiness, reunion, and the spirit of generosity. The property developer has been dedicated to making a positive impact on the Seremban community for many years.
He further stated:
As we embrace the vibrancy of Chinese New Year, it is crucial to remember those encountering challenges in our community. We are privileged to uphold our annual tradition of bringing warmth to those in need. Our sincere visits to these six families aim not only to provide financial assistance but also to create lasting memories and instill a sense of hope during this festive season.
Mr. Chai Kian Soon, Senior General Manager of IJM Land Berhad
Resilience Amid Adversity
Amidst life’s trials, these six families display remarkable resilience and fortitude. Lay Lee Hwa, aged 42, balances employment to provide for her family of five following her husband’s stroke, which left him unable to work.
Yong Kuan Fong, aged 47, a single mother of two, transitioned to part-time work as a waitress after a breast cancer diagnosis forced her to leave her full-time job. Similarly, Lam Pau Lin, aged 44, became a sole provider for her two children after losing her husband to cancer, earning a modest income as a house helper.
Furthermore, Wan Chew Liean, aged 44, took on the responsibility of supporting her three school-going children after her husband passed away from a lung infection. Lai Mee Chan, aged 56, faces financial hardships and earns a living by selling fruits.
Lastly, Law Mee Chai and Chee Yun Keong, both aged 42, struggle to make ends meet as a family of five, relying on minimal income and external financial assistance.
The annual outreach during Chinese New Year represents more than just a customary practice; it demonstrates the unwavering dedication to supporting those in need. IJM Seremban firmly believes that as corporate citizens, it is their duty to extend assistance to community members facing challenges. Together, let’s work towards making a lasting impact and contributing to the improvement of the shared community as said by Mr. Chai.
