Planning for Umrah often takes months of preparation, especially for families balancing travel costs with everyday financial commitments. A new partnership between Bettr, part of Ant International, and Muslim Pro is introducing a Shariah-compliant financing option designed to give eligible Malaysians more flexibility when planning their pilgrimage.
The service allows users to spread approved Umrah costs over 12 to 24 months, helping them manage cash flow while continuing to meet other financial responsibilities.
A More Flexible Way to Plan for Umrah
Through the Muslim Pro platform, eligible users can browse Umrah packages offered by participating partners and apply for financing digitally.
Available packages may include flights, accommodation, meals and ground transportation, with options ranging from standard to premium. Users who qualify can choose an instalment tenure between 12 and 24 months, subject to applicable terms and eligibility requirements.
The financing is intended for individuals and families who are financially able to undertake Umrah but prefer to avoid using a large amount of savings at once.
Built Around Shariah-Compliant Principles
The financing structure uses Tawarruq, a common Islamic finance arrangement designed to provide payment flexibility in line with Shariah principles.
Transactions are facilitated through AS-SIDQ, a digital commodity trading platform by SEDANIA As Salam Capital. The structure has also been endorsed by Masryef Advisory Sdn. Bhd., an Islamic finance consultancy.
This gives users a financing option that is structured around Islamic financial principles while supporting digital access and convenience.
Supporting Better Financial Planning
For many Malaysians, Umrah is an important spiritual goal that requires careful financial preparation.
The new service is designed to help eligible users maintain their savings and emergency funds while managing pilgrimage costs in a more structured way. Early settlement is also available according to the applicable terms.
The partnership stresses that pilgrimage financing should not come at the expense of essential household obligations. Users are encouraged to assess their repayment ability carefully before committing to any financing plan.
Digital Finance Meets Faith-Based Lifestyle Services
Muslim Pro has long supported users with tools for prayer, religious learning and faith-related planning. The partnership with Bettr extends that role into financial preparation for major religious journeys.
With more Muslims using digital platforms for everyday planning, the collaboration reflects a broader shift towards embedding financial services directly into trusted lifestyle ecosystems.
Bettr says it uses credit risk models to assess repayment ability, with the aim of serving a wider range of users, including gig workers and small business owners.
Why This Matters for Malaysia
Malaysia is home to around 22 million Muslims, representing roughly 65% of the population. As demand grows for digital services that fit religious values and modern lifestyles, Shariah-compliant fintech solutions are becoming increasingly relevant.
This partnership shows how Islamic finance can move beyond traditional banking channels and become part of everyday digital platforms, making financial planning more accessible and convenient.
It also highlights Malaysia’s growing role as a market for technology-enabled Islamic financial services.
A New Step for Inclusive Islamic Finance
According to Bettr and Muslim Pro, the goal is not simply to offer another payment option, but to help users plan meaningful life milestones with greater confidence.
By combining Muslim Pro’s digital reach with Bettr’s financing capabilities, the collaboration brings together faith-based lifestyle support and responsible financial planning in one ecosystem.
As digital finance continues to evolve, similar partnerships could become more common across Southeast Asia, especially in markets where consumers are seeking services that are both convenient and aligned with personal values.
