Before taking a personal loan, ask two questions: is the lender legal, and do you know exactly how much you will repay? Skyro Malaysia puts both answers up front.

Skyro Malaysia is the trading name of AT Series Capital Sdn. Bhd., a moneylender licensed by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT). The fintech brand, which entered Malaysia after building its business in the Philippines, offers Skyro Credit, a personal loan you apply for, sign and repay entirely through an app.

With loan scams still a real worry and money pressures shaping family decisions, knowing how a lender operates matters. Here is what borrowers should know, drawn from Skyro’s own FAQ.

8 Essential Answers About Skyro Malaysia

1. Is Skyro Malaysia Licensed?

Yes. AT Series Capital Sdn. Bhd. (Company No. 199101002117 (212428-M)) is licensed by KPKT under the Moneylenders Act 1951.

  • Moneylender’s Licence No.: WL8038/14/01-3/260728
  • Licence validity: 27 July 2026 to 26 July 2028

Skyro is not a bank and does not accept deposits. Licensed moneylenders in Malaysia are also known as Kredit Komuniti (Credit Community). Its licence details and advertisement permit number appear at the bottom of every page.

You can check any moneylender’s licence number against the register on the KPKT website. A licensed moneylender will never:

  • Hold your ATM card or MyKad
  • Ask for payment before your loan is approved and signed
  • Charge interest above 18% per annum for an unsecured loan

Skyro Malaysia also says it will never ask you to pay a fee before your loan agreement is signed, or to hand over your online banking password.

3. How Does Skyro Credit Work?

You apply in the app and choose your amount and repayment term. Once you are approved and the loan agreement is signed, the money is sent to your bank account.

Before you sign anything, the app shows your monthly instalment, the interest rate and the total amount you will repay.

4. Who Can Apply, and What Do You Need?

You can apply if you are a Malaysian citizen or permanent resident with a valid MyKad, a regular income and a Malaysian bank account in your own name. To apply, you will need:

  • Your MyKad
  • A Malaysian bank account or eWallet in your own name
  • A selfie for identity verification
  • Confirmation of your income, using one of the methods shown in the app

Everything happens in the app, with nothing to print and no branch to visit. Meeting the basic requirements does not guarantee approval, as every application is assessed individually.

5. How Much Can You Borrow, and How Fast?

Your limit depends on your income, commitments and credit history, and appears in the app after you apply.

Most applications get a decision within minutes, though some need extra checks. After signing, funds go to your bank account, with timing depending on your bank.

6. How Do Repayments Work?

You repay in fixed monthly instalments, on or before the dates in your repayment schedule, via FPX from your bank account in the app. You can also settle the loan in full at any time by contacting Skyro.

7. What If Your Application Is Not Approved?

Skyro cannot explain individual decisions in detail, but a decline does not stop you from reapplying if your circumstances change.

8. How Does Skyro Malaysia Protect Your Data?

Personal data is handled in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. Skyro’s Privacy Notice, available in English and Bahasa Malaysia, explains what data is collected, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and how it is protected.

Borrow With Your Eyes Open

A licence is a starting point, not proof a loan suits you. Check any lender on the KPKT register, read the instalment and total repayment before signing, and borrow only what your budget can carry. Skyro Malaysia shows those numbers before you sign, when they matter most.
