ROSEN Asia Pacific has closed 100% of its Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) actions within stipulated deadlines in 2026, a regional milestone that ROSEN Group in Malaysia celebrated at HSE Day 2026.
The company also used the occasion to spotlight its work beyond the workplace: a mangrove restoration initiative with the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS).

How ROSEN Asia Pacific Reached a 100% HSE Action Closure Rate
In safety management, an HSE action is the follow-up step raised once a workplace risk has been identified. It could be a corrective fix for a hazard already spotted, or a preventive measure to stop one from appearing. A 100% closure rate means every one of these actions across the region was completed on time.
The jump is a big one. In September, the closure rate stood at 70%. Getting to 100% meant making sure corrective and preventive actions were implemented effectively and on time.
ROSEN credits the result to a proactive approach to identifying, reporting and addressing risks, and above all to its people. Employees across the organisation took part in observation and intervention initiatives that fed directly into the effort.
800+ Safety Observations and Interventions by Employees
To date, employees have recorded more than 800 observations and interventions. Each one represents someone who noticed a potential hazard, spoke up or stepped in before a risk could become an incident.

That level of participation points to a safety culture where looking out for one another is part of the job, not an afterthought. It also reinforces the company’s commitment to accountability and continuous improvement throughout its operations.
“Safety begins with awareness and action,” said Floris Verhagen, Senior Vice President of ROSEN Asia Pacific. “We have to observe our surroundings and intervene when we see something risky. By doing so, we can prevent someone from getting hurt. Ultimately, we look out for one another.”
Planting 200+ Mangroves With the Malaysian Nature Society
ROSEN’s environmental commitment extends outside its facilities. Earlier this year, the company partnered with the Malaysian Nature Society to plant more than 200 mangrove seedlings, supporting ecosystem restoration, biodiversity conservation and environmental awareness within the local community.
Mangroves do a lot of quiet work for Malaysia’s coastlines. Their dense roots help hold soil in place against erosion and storm surges, provide nurseries for young fish and other marine life, and store carbon in the mud beneath them. Every seedling planted adds to that natural buffer.
“The mangrove restoration initiative reflects our commitment to creating a positive impact beyond our operations,” said Noor Alia Mohd Anif, Head of Marketing & Communications, ROSEN Asia Pacific.
“Malaysia has been an important part of ROSEN’s Asia Pacific operations for more than 33 years, and we are committed to contributing positively to the communities and environments in which we operate. Through our partnership with the Malaysian Nature Society, we are helping preserve local ecosystems while encouraging greater environmental awareness among our employees.”
HSE Day 2026 Puts HSE Excellence in the Spotlight
ROSEN highlighted both achievements during HSE Day 2026, held on 14 October under the theme HSE Excellence. The event brought together employees from across the Asia Pacific region through a live regional broadcast focused on health, safety, well-being and environmental responsibility.

Bringing safety and sustainability into the same conversation makes sense. Both depend on people paying attention to their surroundings, acting early and taking responsibility for what happens next, whether at work or along the coastline.
