Pos Malaysia has introduced a new commemorative stamp collection celebrating Malaysia’s native parrot species while raising awareness about wildlife conservation.
Developed in collaboration with the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) Peninsular Malaysia, the Parrots of Malaysia Special Stamp Collection highlights the country’s rich biodiversity and the importance of protecting species that play a vital role in forest ecosystems.
The collection will be released on 31 May 2026 in conjunction with World Parrot Day.
Showcasing Malaysia’s Colourful Rainforest Birds

The collection features three protected parrot species commonly found in Malaysia’s tropical rainforests.
They include the Long-tailed Parakeet, Blue-rumped Parrot, and Blue-crowned Hanging Parrot. These birds contribute to seed dispersal and forest regeneration, making them important to the health of Malaysia’s natural environment.
Several of the featured species are also listed on the IUCN Red List, highlighting the need for continued conservation efforts.
A Special Release for Collectors
The commemorative set includes two stamp designs, a miniature sheet, First Day Covers, and an exclusive collector’s folder.
One of the highlights is a specially crafted miniature sheet featuring die-cut printing that follows the natural silhouette of the parrots, giving the collection a distinctive appearance.
The complete folder set is priced at RM66.30.
Available Nationwide and at Bird Parks

The collection will be available at 90 Philatelic Bureaus nationwide, selected post offices, and through Pos Malaysia’s online store.
To mark the launch, first-day sales will also be held at KL Bird Park, Penang Bird Park, and Langkawi Wildlife Park. Visitors can enjoy special commemorative cancellations and exclusive promotions offered in collaboration with each venue.
The initiative aims to connect stamp collecting with environmental awareness while encouraging greater appreciation for Malaysia’s wildlife heritage.
Supporting Awareness Through Stamp Collection

Beyond its collectible value, the Parrots of Malaysia stamp collection serves as a reminder of the country’s diverse natural heritage and the importance of protecting vulnerable species.
By combining philately with conservation messaging, Pos Malaysia and PERHILITAN hope to inspire greater public awareness of biodiversity and environmental stewardship.
