Huawei Malaysia has officially introduced the Huawei Mate 80 Pro, its newest flagship smartphone designed with strong camera technology, improved durability, and advanced performance. The launch took place in Kuala Lumpur and was accompanied by the “See, Truly Malaysia” photography campaign and the XMAGE Awards 2026.
The new device reflects Huawei’s focus on combining premium design with powerful imaging features while expanding its ecosystem of connected smart devices.
Advanced Camera System for Detailed Photography

One of the main highlights of the Huawei Mate 80 Pro is its upgraded camera system. The phone features a triple-camera setup that allows users to capture different types of shots with high clarity.
The system includes:
- 50MP Ultra Lighting Camera with a large sensor for detailed photos
- 48MP Telephoto Macro Lens with 4× optical zoom
- 40MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera for wide landscape shots
Huawei also introduced its True-to-Colour Camera System, which helps keep colours accurate in different lighting conditions.
Several AI photography tools are also included. Features such as AI Composition, AI Remove, and AI Best Expression help users frame better photos, remove unwanted objects, and choose the best expressions in group pictures.
Stronger Durability and Premium Design
The Mate 80 Pro is built to handle everyday use with improved durability. It uses 2nd Generation Kunlun Glass, which Huawei says is up to 20 times stronger than normal glass.
The phone is also rated IP68 and IP69, meaning it can resist water, dust, and high-pressure water jets.
Other design highlights include:
- Huawei’s Dual Space Ring camera design
- Vegan fibre back panel for a premium finish
- Colour options in Gold, Green, and Black
To manage heat better, Huawei added the SuperCool Dual Phase Change Heat Dissipation System, which improves cooling performance during heavy use.
‘See, Truly Malaysia’ Campaign and XMAGE Awards 2026
Alongside the product launch, Huawei Malaysia partnered with Tourism Malaysia to introduce the “See, Truly Malaysia” photography campaign.
The campaign encourages users to capture Malaysia’s culture, landscapes, and heritage using the Mate 80 Pro’s camera technology.
Huawei also announced the XMAGE Awards 2026, a global photography competition that will run in Malaysia from 23 March to 16 August 2026. The program invites users to share images that highlight everyday life, culture, and nature.
