The Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia is launching a nationwide initiative to gather public and industry feedback on proposed revisions to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Content Code. This is your chance to influence the future of digital content governance and help create a safer, more ethical, and more inclusive online space.
Why This Content Standards Update Matters
With AI-generated content, changing digital trends, and evolving societal norms, content regulation must adapt. Malaysia’s Content Code, which guides ethical content creation and distribution, was last updated in 2021. With new challenges and advancing technology, an updated approach is now needed
This initiative follows the recent amendments to the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588) and aims to ensure the Content Code remain relevant.
Your Feedback is Crucial

Gathering the public and industry feedback is important to shape the policies, the policies would be applied to:
- Content creators: Ensuring fair guidelines for ethical content production
- Industry professionals: Refining standards for businesses and media platforms

“Every voice matters. This is a collective effort to ensure that content policies reflect real-world insights and experiences.” – Mediha Mahmood, CEO of the Content Forum
