Little Precious Postnatal Care (LPPC) is a unique center that seamlessly blends traditional Chinese confinement practices with professional medical care, creating a nurturing haven for over 1,000 mothers.
Founded by Katrine Cheong, an award-winning architect and interior designer, LPPC aims to elevate postpartum care and support for new mothers.
Addressing The Need For Postnatal Care
The postpartum period can be incredibly challenging for mothers in Malaysia. Research indicates that 14.29% of new mothers experience postpartum depression, often arising from a lack of spousal support and an unstable mood.
Recognizing these challenges, LPPC is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of mothers during this critical stage of life. Hence, this postnatal care center promises essential care and support, both physically and emotionally.
Award-Winning Design For Ultimate Comfort
The center’s exquisite interiors have garnered numerous awards, including the prestigious MIID REKA AWARD 2021 for Design Excellence and the Asia Pacific Property Award 2021 for Best Public Service Interior.
Katrine’s architectural expertise is evident in every detail of the facility. This ensures that mothers enjoy an environment of unparalleled comfort and serenity. She stated,
From the moment a mother steps through our doors, she is enveloped by an environment designed to soothe and uplift.

An Inspiring Vision For Postnatal Care
Katrine’s journey to establishing LPPC is as remarkable as the postnatal care center itself. Growing up without the best home, the 10-year-old Katrine aspired to have a dream home and become an architect. She reflects,
I grew up in a small partitioned room without windows, sleeping on a simple mattress on the floor above a shop lot. While it was a challenging environment, it ignited a determination in me to create something greater—not only for myself but for others as well. Today, through LPPC, I have designed a space where mothers can experience unparalleled comfort, care, and tranquillity.

Furthermore, Katrine was influenced by her family’s business in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She has woven holistic approaches into the fabric of LPPC, offering TCM-based meals tailored to meet each mother’s unique needs.
Personalized And Specialized Care
As a mother of three, Katrine intimately understands the physical and emotional demands of postpartum recovery. LPPC offers personalized and specialized professional care through a dedicated team of pediatricians, TCM doctors, nutritionists, physiotherapists, and lactation consultants. Safety is a top priority for this postnatal care center, with strict COVID-19 testing protocols in place to protect both mothers and their newborns. Katrine explained,
I have stepped into the shoes of postpartum mothers and there is so much detail in the needs that they require. We set ourselves apart as we are customer-oriented. We listen and cater to each individual needs. From customized nutrition to a balance of traditional and modern physicians attending to the mothers to ensure their best recovery within this 28-day period.
