Setel has expanded its digital ecosystem with a new Bill Payment feature, allowing users to manage utility and household payments directly through the app.
The new feature supports payments for utilities, water, telecommunications, and broadband services, bringing together 25 billers including Astro, CelcomDigi, TM, Air Selangor, and Indah Water.
The move reflects Setel’s broader push to evolve beyond fuel payments into a more integrated everyday lifestyle platform for Malaysians.
Simplifying Everyday Payments
The Bill Payment feature is designed to make managing monthly household expenses more convenient by allowing users to handle multiple payments within a single platform.
According to Setel, the feature is part of its wider effort to support daily routines through connected digital services focused on convenience and accessibility.
More billers are expected to be added over time as the platform continues expanding its ecosystem.
Setel Expands Beyond Mobility Services

Originally introduced as a fuel payment app, Setel has gradually expanded into a broader digital platform supporting various lifestyle and payment services.
The company said the latest feature aligns with its “Setel je! semua setiap hari” approach, which focuses on integrating more everyday needs into one app experience.
As digital payment habits continue growing in Malaysia, platforms are increasingly competing through ecosystem convenience rather than standalone services alone.
Cashback Promotion for Users
To encourage adoption of the new feature, Setel is offering users a 10% cashback on bill payment transactions, capped at RM10 per month.
The promotion runs from 18 May until 18 July 2026.
The campaign highlights how fintech companies continue using rewards and incentives to strengthen engagement and encourage users to centralise more daily transactions within digital platforms.
Growing Role of Everyday Fintech Platforms

Malaysia’s fintech landscape continues evolving as consumers become more comfortable managing payments, services, and subscriptions through mobile apps.
For companies like Setel, expanding into household payments reflects broader demand for digital platforms that simplify everyday routines while reducing the need to switch between multiple services.
As competition intensifies across the digital payments sector, convenience and ecosystem integration are becoming increasingly important for long-term user retention.
