Funded by the State Government of Selangor, this initiative will revolutionize education, healthcare, transportation, infrastructure, tourism and agriculture, positioning the state at the forefront of AI innovation in Malaysia
Empowering State Agencies with AI Capabilities
At the heart of Teraju AI Selangor is Malaysia’s first AI innovation sandbox in the public sector. This cutting-edge environment, established by Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC) and Google Cloud, provides participating agencies with funded access to Google Could’s AI technology stack for up to six weeks
Key benefits of this initiative include:
- AI-Optimized Infrastructure: High Performance Google Cloud Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) and NVIDIA GPUs enable faster and cost-efficient AI model training.
- Vertex AI Development Platform: Agencies can build, customize, and deploy AI models with over 160 pre-trained models, including Google’s Gemini 2.0, Anthropic’s Claude, and Meta’s Llama.
- BigQuery Data Management: A unified platform for organizing and governing multimodal data (text, images, videos) crucial for AI training.
- Gemini Code Assist: AI-powered coding assistant to accelerate digital application development
With these capabilities, state agencies will be able to develop high-impact AI applications tailored to their specific needs, whether it’s AI powered citizen communication, predictive infrastructure maintenance, or data-driven policy-making,
Hands-On Training to Build AI-Ready Government Agencies
To ensure maximum adoption and effectiveness, agencies participating in Teraju AI Selangor will undergo and intensive AI training workshop conducted by Google Could and STDC.
- 1-Day Workshop: AI practitioners and developers will receive specialized training to identify AI use cases and develop prototypes.
- 6-Week AI Development Phase: Agencies will refine their prototypes with hands-on technical support from STDC, Google Cloud, and Cloud Space.
- Final AI Showcase: A panel comprising Selangor’s state government, STDC, and Google Cloud will evaluate at the projects, selecting top AI solutions for full-scale implementation
The most innovative and impactful AI solutions will be highlighted at the Teraju AI Selangor Graduation Ceremony later this year, with potential funding from the Selangor State Government to bring them to life.
