Who would have known that Malaysia’s Social Security Organization (PERKESO/SOSCO) has a song? The song even won an award at the International Media Festival for Prevention (IMFP) in Toronto, Canada recently!
The festival celebrates and highlights multimedia productions regarding safety and health at work. It is an annual award featuring films, art, and music from all over the world.
Entitled “Sifar” (Zero), the song is a collaboration of PERKESO with composers Asfan Shah, Lady D, Tripdisz and Kmy Kmo. The song topped the “Music is Key” category among 6 categories at the festival and successfully beat 288 entries from 50 countries around the world.
One of the composers, Tripdisz shared a reaction video of the team upon the announcement of their win on his Facebook page.
Such a wonderful moment captured!
According to PERKESO’s Head of Prevention, Medicine and Rehabilitation Division Dr Azlan Darus, “Sifar” incorporates the Vision Zero concept, which is an effort to prevent work injuries and promote care among employees. It has the safety, health and well-being aspects introduced by the International Social Security Association (ISSA).
Meanwhile, the song will be used as a promotional medium for the organization’s programs in the future. It will also serve as a platform to educate the public on the importance of safety and social protection and workers.
A heartfelt congratulations to PERKESO and the local artists for their achievement!
