Looking for a new job, or ready for a career change? MYFutureJobs, the national job portal run by the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), offers free job matching, career advice and hiring events. Here is how to make the most of it, with figures as of mid-2026.

What Is MYFutureJobs?

MYFutureJobs is a government-run platform that connects jobseekers with employers across Malaysia. Unlike many commercial job boards, it is free for jobseekers and goes beyond listings, offering career counselling, resume checks, interview preparation and reskilling programmes.

The numbers show how active it is. As of 30 June 2026, there were 96,700 active vacancies on the portal, and 668,321 jobs had been advertised in total, Utusan Malaysia reported, citing the Ministry of Human Resources. Nearly 40% of active openings were high-skilled roles, more than 30% were in TVET fields, and almost 20% paid more than RM5,000 a month.

6 Smart Ways to Use MYFutureJobs

1. Register and Complete Your Profile

Go to the official portal, click Register and sign up with your email, IC number and a password. Then fill in every section of your profile: desired job, work experience, education, training, skills and certificates. Upload your resume as a PDF or Word file.

A complete profile matters. The portal uses your details to match you with suitable vacancies, and an incomplete profile may not receive job alerts at all.

2. Let the Matching Tools Work for You

MYFutureJobs uses skills-based matching to recommend jobs, taking into account your location, and can send alerts by email. Career assessment tools can also suggest roles and skills worth adding. Review your matches regularly and track your applications in your dashboard.

3. Join a Career Carnival

PERKESO and MYFutureJobs run career carnivals and hiring events across the country. Between January and May 2026, they held 2,989 programmes attended by 86,594 jobseekers, of whom 14,029 found jobs and 15,809 were called for further interviews, according to Utusan Malaysia. Check the portal’s career fair page for events in your state, and bring printed resumes.

4. Use Free Career Support

Many jobseekers overlook the human help on offer. PERKESO officers provide career counselling, resume reviews and interview coaching at no cost. Jobseekers aged 40 and above can also tap MYMidCareer40, which offers counselling designed for mid-career job changes.

5. Upskill While You Search

If your skills need a refresh, PERKESO’s reskilling and upskilling programmes can help. Up to 12 June 2026, 2,697 insured persons had been approved for these programmes, with information and communications technology the most popular field, Bernama reported via FMT. In the same period, 13,309 people who had lost their jobs returned to work through government support, part of 62,644 placements made through MYFutureJobs.

6. Ask About Mobility Help if You Need to Move

Landing a job in another town can mean extra costs. A Mobility Assistance grant of up to RM1,000 is available to help eligible jobseekers who must relocate for a new job, according to the Ministry of Human Resources. Ask a PERKESO officer whether you qualify.

If You Have Recently Lost Your Job

If you were retrenched and contributed to the Employment Insurance System, registering on MYFutureJobs is part of the process for claiming job-loss benefits. You will also be expected to carry out regular job-search activities. Speak to your nearest PERKESO office for guidance on your case.

Stay Safe While Job Hunting

Genuine employers will not ask you to pay processing fees, training deposits or document charges to secure a job. Be cautious of offers with unusually high pay for very simple work, and always check a company’s details before attending an interview.

Your Next Step

Whether you are a fresh graduate, a TVET jobseeker (see our look at TVET employability in Malaysia) or a professional planning a mid-career move, MYFutureJobs gives you free tools and real people to help. Set aside an hour to complete your profile this week, and let the matches start coming in.
