In a Vibrant show of gratitude, McDonalds’s Malaysia is once again shining the spotlight on teachers through its annual Teacher’s Day Campaign, now in its ninth consecutive year. This year’s celebration, held at McDonald’s Bandar Sri Damansara, brought together nearly 200 educators for a day filled with appreciation, joy, and community connection marking a powerful tribute to the everyday heroes shaping Malaysia’s future.
Honouring Educators, Uplifting Communities

Held on 15 May 2025, the flagship event welcomed teachers from four different schools: SJK(C) Damansara, SJK(C) Desa Jaya 2, SMJK Chong Hwa, and Sri Bestari International School. Attendees were treated to live performances, celebrity appearances, engaging activities, and of course, delicious McDonalds’s meals, all arranged to honour their tireless dedication.
“At McDonald’s Malaysia, we are more than just a restaurant, we are a place that connects people, families, and communities,” shared Dato’ haji Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director and Local Operating Partner. “Teachers are the heart of every community. They mould young minds and help shape the nation. We are proud to celebrate them in a meaningful way.”
Campaign Highlights from Celebrations to School Contributions

More than just a single event, McDonalds’s Teacher’s Day 2025 campaign spans the entire month of May, impacting over 300 schools across Malaysia. Celebrations are either hosted at McDonald’s outlets or brought directly to schools, making it convenient for teachers to feel appreciated wherever they are.
As part of this year’s initiative, McDonald’s Malaysia is also contributing RM40,000 to selected schools nationwide. These funds will go towards upgrading staffroom facilities, offering teachers a more comfortable environment to unwind, collaborate, and prepare for their classes.
This initiative is a part of Program Komuniti @ McDonald’s, the brand’s long-term community outreach programme. Each year, McDonald’s organizes over 10,000 community-focused events, supporting various groups such as families in need, frontliners, and of course, educators.
A Legacy of Appreciation Since 2017

McDonalds’s Teacher’s Day celebrations began in 2017, and the campaign has grown stronger with each passing year. In 2019 and 2022, the company distributed over 500,000 free meal vouchers to teachers nationwide. This longstanding commitment highlights McDonald’s vision of being more than a restaurant, it’s a pillar of community support and gratitude.
Now in its ninth year, the campaign remains a heartfelt tradition that reflects how deeply the company values educators and the role they play in building a better tomorrow.
Celebrating the People Who Shape Our Nation

Teachers don’t just educate, they inspire, nurture, and transform communities. McDonald’s Malaysia’s Teacher’s Day campaign is a reminder of the respect and recognition they deserve. Whether through joyful events, financial contributions, or heartfelt words of thanks, this initiative shows how big gestures can start with a simple meal and a meaningful celebration.
