Now that Malaysia has started to slowly transition from the pandemic to endemic phase of Covid-19, its citizen is also gradually taking the steps to resume their normal lives. After the stressful period of all the lockdowns, what better way to wind down than to give ourselves a treat by taking a visit to the theme parks available in Malaysia? To sweeten the deal, here are 5 Malaysian theme parks that also offer discounts for Malaysian Identity Card (MyKad) owners.
1. Legoland Malaysia Resort
For MyKad owners, LEGOLAND Malaysia has offered a very worthy bargain. The first one is the Single-Park Pass which allows an unlimited access to its Theme Park for a whole year at the price of a 1-Day admission ticket as well as exclusive benefits and discounts. Another is the Double-Park Pass which is basically the same as the previous pass except for the fact that this particular pass allows unlimited entries to LEGOLAND’s Theme Park, Sea. The prices for both passes is as shown below:
Type | Adult | Child/Senior |
Single-Park Pass | RM189 | RM149 |
Double-Park Pass | RM249 | RM200 |
2. Sunway Lagoon Malaysia
If you don’t feel like going to Legoland, here’s another worthy option for you. Sunway Lagoon Malaysia also has an ongoing promotion exclusively for Malaysians! Each MyKad is entitled to one purchase of an admission ticket at a reduced price. However, the cardholder must be present during the ticket purchase. Excluding pay-per-ride activities, an admission ticket includes entry to all parks, rides, activities and attractions.

3. A’Famosa Resort
If you are a Malaccan citizen or you want to travel to somewhere in Malacca, the A’Famosa Resort is doing a deal only for MyKad holders. The special promo stands at RM109 per person for their Duo Park Annual Pass. The Pass holder is entitled to unlimited access to the 2 theme parks – Safari Wonderland and Water Theme Park – during opening hours. Just like its name, the Annual Pass is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Plus, there are other added privileges offered for the Pass holders such as free entries for cars as well as a 20% discount for photos, cabana and F&B.
4. Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark
Never let it be said that Johorians are lacking for choice as here is another alternative. The Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark offers two types of tickets with MyKad discounts for Malaysian visitors. The One Day Ticket allows for one-day entry per person to its Adventure Waterpark. On the other hand, the Splash Pass is used to get unlimited entry within a day to Desaru’s Adventure Waterpark including exclusive offers and promotions. For this, the prices are as shown below:

One Day Ticket | RM65 (NP: RM151) | RM65 (NP: RM151) |
Splash Pass | RM196 (NP: RM245) | RM156 (NP: RM195) |
5. Resorts World Genting Theme Park
There is no way we can leave this famous Malaysian theme park out of this list. There is a bit of a bummer with this one, though. Yes, there is a discounted price for all the available rides in Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park. However, it is only for Citizens of Pahang. To be exact, any guests who owned a MyKad/MyKid with the state codes 06, 32, and 33 are eligible for this offer. So, if you fit the description, you will be able to save 40% if you get the 1-Day Unlimited Ride Pass. This brings the price of the ticket to a total of RM37 for Pahang citizens (NP: RM62).
There must be many more theme parks in Malaysia that offer exclusive discounts for us Malaysians but for the sake of keeping this article to an agreeable length, we decided to limit this list to 5 theme parks for now. Which one are you most excited about?
