Pickleball is coming to Malaysia bigger and better than ever. From 16–20 July 2025, the world’s largest pickleball tournament, the World Pickleball Championship (WPC) Series, will make its historic debut in Kuala Lumpur.
Held at The Pickle Grounds, located on the rooftop of One World Hotel, this five-day sporting event will welcome over 1,000 players from more than 17 countries. It’s a first for Southeast Asia, and it’s happening right here in the heart of the capital.
Why Malaysia’s WPC Debut Is a Big Deal

The World Pickleball Championship Series has become the most prestigious event in the global pickleball scene since its inception in 2019. With over 80 events held across 15 countries on four continents and more than 60,000 registered players, WPC is now a staple on the international sporting calendar.
Malaysia’s inclusion in the WPC circuit marks a milestone moment for Southeast Asia, positioning the country as a regional hub for pickleball and a rising star in the global sports tourism market. The event is officially backed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia, aligning closely with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign that aims to attract international visitors through high-profile sports events.
