The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) honoured Malaysia’s top-performing students in the prestigious ACA exams. Held on June, the Celebrating Excellence 2025 event not only recognized academic brilliance but also shined a light on how Malaysian professionals are leading globally in roles that stretch far beyond accounting.
More than a certificate, the ACA qualification has become a powerful passport to international careers. Today’s honorees are proof that many are already working in regional hubs and global firms, proudly representing Malaysia on the world stage.
Why ACA is more Than Just an Exam

Known for its high standards, the AC qualification is respected worldwide for nurturing adaptable, ethical, and future-ready professionals. According to Shenola Gonzales, Head of ICAEW Malaysia, “The ACA develops professionals who are prepared to lead across borders, industries, and challenges. At ICAEW, we don’t just teach technical skills, we build global thinkers.”
This commitment to leadership and resilience was evident throughout the awards. Thirty-seven students were honoured for top global scores in the 2024 ACA exams. These students came from a mix of full-time study backgrounds and ICAEW Authorized Training Employers (ATEs), with real-world experience shaping their success.
Who’s Behind the Success

Award recipients were recognized across three levels which is Certificate, Professional, and Advanced. Highlights include eight Advanced level winners from prestigious firms such as PwC, KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, and Sunway Berhad. These individuals were awarded 24k gold-plated medals, certificates, and exclusive prizes.
The celebration brought together ICAEW students, members, training partners, and nine respected Patrons from the ICAEW Members’ Society Malaysian Chapter. These Patrons, made up of senior business leaders and professionals, sponsor the awards and champion high standards for future ACA leaders.
Beyond exams, ICAEW and its partners ensure students gain hands-on experience and mentorship. This support system strengthens their skills and mindset, creating professionals who think critically, act ethically, and lead with confidence.
Join a Global Standard of Leadership
ICAEW’s vision goes far beyond Malaysia. With the ACA qualification recognized globally, students have the chance to take their skills anywhere. Through continuous learning, strong ethics, and real-life training, ICAEW is shaping leaders who can navigate uncertainty, embrace innovation, and drive positive change.
As Gonzales said in closing, quoting Maya Angelou, “Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” This spirit of lifelong learning lies at the heart of the ACA journey.
