Hijjaz Suhaimi is a young Malaysian entrepreneur who has transformed his small coffee stall into a successful cafe called Randevú Coffee. His journey is an inspiration to all aspiring entrepreneurs, showing that it is possible to turn your passion into a successful business with hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Let’s dive into his journey from becoming a small coffee owner to a coffee shop entrepreneur.
The Story Behind Randevú Coffee
Hijjaz Suhaimi and his brother, Haridz Suhaimi, started a coffee-selling business in January 2022 along the Wangsa Maju roadside. Back then, both of them were students at a local university. However, the challenging circumstances of the pandemic led them to make the tough decision of discontinuing their studies to provide essential financial support for their family.
The idea for their coffee business was inspired when they noticed people started to sell food by the roadside. Then, with his brother’s experience as a barista, they started the Randevú Coffee journey.
The Obstacles Faced While Selling Coffee

Hijjaz reflected on the ever-changing weather conditions they encountered while operating their roadside coffee shop. He recalled episodes of heavy rain that came on suddenly and may become rather dangerous. Nevertheless, their business was able to collect assets valued at RM45,000 for almost a full year, despite these obstacles.
Rather than spending money on leisure activities, the brothers decided to invest their money in their coffee stalls. They purchased machines that they knew would be essential for their future cafe by making careful investments.
Hijjaz and his brother also became more knowledgeable about coffee by actively taking part in food festivals and carnivals, and working together with other small businesses in the process. They were able to gain important knowledge and insights into the coffee industry, thanks to this hands-on training.
A Major Breakthrough With Randevú Coffee

Finally, in October 2023, the brothers opened their dream cafe in Wangsa Maju. Their business is operated by the family, with their 57-year-old mother, Yoko Noni, who is taking charge of all the pastry baking for the cafe.
Initially, Hijjaz was not content with opening just another typical food and beverage (F&B) establishment. Instead, he aspired to create a welcoming gathering place where communities could come together and enjoy quality time. This dream fueled his determination to establish his own cafe.
To summarize, Hijjaz Suhaimi is a young entrepreneur who has achieved great success with his coffee business, Randevú Coffee. He shows that it is possible to turn your passion into a successful business with hard work and dedication.
