On 7 and 8 December 2024, the Elmina Lakeside Festival brought together over 100,000 people at the Elmina Lakeside Mall and Urban Park. As the first-ever celebration of its kind, the festival filled the atmosphere with joy among Shah Alam residents and visitors from across Klang Valley, creating a wonderful sense of community and togetherness.
A Celebration Of Joy And Enchantment
Organised by Sime Darby Property Berhad, the festival turned the City of Elmina into a winter wonderland, with more than 20 attractions to explore.
One of the highlights was a lakeside concert featuring some of Malaysia’s best-loved artists, like Dato’ Awie, Ella, DOLLA, and Joey Leong.
But the real showstopper was the flying Santa sleigh, which made history as the longest Santa sleigh rope slide in Malaysia, reaching an impressive 135 meters. It was officially recognised in the Malaysia Book of Records!
Visitors also enjoyed a giant Christmas tree that doubled as a toy factory and wandered through European-themed Christmas markets with 20 artisanal pop-up booths.
A Community Bonded In Festive Spirit
The Fun Zone was filled with activities for families and friends. There were hot air balloon rides, an ice-skating rink, carnival games, boat and train rides, inflatable castles, and even a Teddy Bear Village.
Meanwhile, the Lumi Light Garden amazed visitors with its massive LED sculptures and a dazzling Northern Lights display. It was the perfect place for a family photo, and the magical atmosphere left everyone with memories to treasure.
