In a remarkable achievement, eight-year-old Dion Das Louis, hailing from Sarawak, has been chosen to represent Malaysia at the prestigious World Championships of Performing Arts 2024 (WCOPA) in the United States.
His selection comes on the heels of an outstanding victory in the Junior Dance category at the Grand Final of the Malaysian Championship of Performing Arts 2024 (MCOPA).
The Journey To Success
Dion captured the attention of judges with his mesmerizing performance titled ‘The Little Bornean Birdie,’ a contemporary Ngajat dance inspired by the graceful movements of hornbills and sparrows.
His impeccable execution not only earned him a gold medal and a RM3,000 scholarship but also secured him the coveted opportunity to fly the Malaysian flag in Long Beach, California this June.
