The 2023 Coursera data report reveals a strong enthusiasm among Malaysian learners for courses offering in-demand technology and data science skills, reflecting a keen aspiration to acquire the expertise essential for success in the contemporary digital economy.
Google’s courses take precedence, emphasizing fundamental knowledge in areas such as data management, project management, cybersecurity, digital marketing, e-commerce, and user experience design. The preferred choice among Malaysian learners is Google’s Foundations: Data, Data, Everywhere, a popular selection for those aiming to establish essential literacy to remain competitive in an increasingly data-centric world.
Yonsei University’s First Step Korean consistently remains among the most favored courses for four years, indicating a sustained interest in language and cultural studies, possibly driven by global connectivity and cultural exchange. You also can learn Korean language through these apps!
Furthermore, there is a growing adoption of courses integrated into entry-level Professional Certificates, requiring no prior background or college degree, and focusing on imparting skills necessary for entry-level positions. Notably, 90% of the top courses in Malaysia, such as Google’s Ask Questions to Make Data-Driven Decisions, Foundations of Cybersecurity, and Foundations of Project Management, are part of these programs.
