In line with the government’s ease of restrictions on travel for fully vaccinated individuals, AirAsia Group has announced that its airline is ready to fly again. The group said the resumption of the airline service will operate with 100% vaccinated crews and frontline staff. This comes along with contactless safety and hygiene measures to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
According to a statement by AirAsia, the group’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sri Tony Fernandes said, “With stringent health and hygiene protocols and robust standard operating procedures, guests can be assured of a 360 degree peace of mind when travelling with us again”.
Safety measures
AirAsia encourages guests to do self-check-in online through the airasia Super App to minimize physical interaction and processing time at the airport. In addition, guests also have access to automated bag drop facilities, numerous digital payments options and mobile boarding passes at all airports it operates for.
New check-in feature
The group also introduced its new check-in feature that allows guests to verify required medical documents online in real-time, which they can do before heading to the airport. The group however did not mention where to access the said feature.
In the future, AirAsia will also integrate its check-in system with the MySejahtera app for a seamless check-in experience. However, the group did not provide any more details on the implementation.
We will have to wait for future updates.
Biometric facial recognition technology
The airline company added that it is also in process of launching its biometric facial recognition technology. This technology for guests verification will be available at key ports, beginning with KLIA 2.
