Food delivery platforms are constantly looking for faster and more efficient ways to serve customers, especially in busy urban areas.
foodpanda Malaysia has now introduced pandaxpress at Berjaya Times Square, marking Malaysia’s first integrated mall-wide pickup service. The new system is designed to reduce delivery delays and improve the overall ordering experience for customers, merchants, and delivery partners.
The initiative reflects how technology and logistics are becoming more important in improving everyday services across Malaysia’s growing digital economy.
A New Way to Manage Mall Deliveries
Mall deliveries can often be time-consuming for riders.
Instead of moving between multiple outlets inside a shopping mall, delivery partners using pandaxpress now collect orders from one central pickup point.
Dedicated mall pickers gather orders from participating vendors and consolidate them at a kiosk before handing them over to riders. This removes the need for delivery partners to navigate crowded mall spaces, helping deliveries move faster and more smoothly.
According to foodpanda Malaysia, the system helps reduce bottlenecks while improving operational efficiency.
Faster Deliveries and Higher Merchant Participation

The pilot phase already showed promising results.
During its first 30 days, pandaxpress recorded around a 6% increase in successful orders compared to December 2025. Average delivery times also improved by nearly 10%.
Merchant participation grew strongly as well, with the active vendor base increasing by more than 50%.
This shows growing interest from mall tenants looking to expand their digital reach and improve customer access through delivery platforms.
Supporting Malaysia’s Digital Service Economy
The launch places Malaysia alongside markets such as the Philippines and Qatar, which already offer integrated mall delivery services within the Delivery Hero network.
foodpanda Malaysia says it plans to expand pandaxpress to more malls nationwide in the coming months.
As consumer demand for convenience continues growing, services like this could become more common across retail and shopping spaces.
The model also helps malls strengthen partnerships with digital platforms while creating new opportunities for tenants to reach customers beyond physical foot traffic.
Digital Convenience Becoming More Important

The launch reflects a wider shift in consumer behaviour.
Customers today expect faster service, smoother delivery experiences, and greater convenience when ordering online. Businesses are increasingly using technology and logistics systems to meet these expectations more efficiently.
For delivery platforms, improving operations behind the scenes has become just as important as offering promotions and discounts.
This is especially relevant in urban areas where traffic, crowd movement, and time management directly affect customer satisfaction.
Special Promotion for Customers
To celebrate the launch, foodpanda Malaysia is offering customers RM10 off selected food delivery orders from participating vendors at Berjaya Times Square.
Users can apply the promo code SYOK10 through the foodpanda app. Terms and conditions apply.
