Malaysia Airports has wrapped up its iconic Licence to Win (LTW) 2024 campaign, with one lucky Malaysian, Emilyn Ooi Lee Swan, walking away with an unbelievable RM1 million shopping spree. That’s right, one million ringgit to spend across five international airports in Malaysia!
The campaign turned every RM200 purchase into a golden ticket. It transformed airport shopping into a global contest, drawing over 300,000 entries from across Malaysia, Indonesia, China, India, and Singapore. For the first time since 2019, the campaign returned with massive impact and a strong female presence. All grand prize finalist this year were women, reflecting the growing influence of female travellers in the retail space.
Reviving Excitement at Malaysia’s Airports

LTW 2024 wasn’t just about prizes. It symbolized a vibrant comeback for airport shopping after years of pandemic slowdown. In fact, Malaysia Airports’ commercial sales surged to RM2.33 billion in 2024, marking a 25% increase from 2023 and hitting 86% of pre-pandemic levels. That’s a strong sign travellers are back and they’re spending.
According to Hani Ezra Hussin, Senior General Manager of Commercial Services, “Licence to Win is more than just a contest. It’s about creating excitement, sparking joy, and redefining airport shopping. Watching women take center stage this year made it even more meaningful.”
More Than Shopping, It’s a Retail Renaissance

Throughout 2024, Malaysia Aiports launched multiple upgrades across its retail network. 90% of outlets reopened, delivering a more vibrant mix of shopping and dining experiences. Eraman Malaysia, the campaign’s retail partner, revamped its flagship stores at KLIA Terminal 1 last year and is currently upgrading its Duty-Free emporium at Terminal 2.
These changes set the stage for shoppers like Emilyn and others to enjoy a refreshed retail experience with their shopping vouchers, valid across KLIA, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching airports.
