When opportunity meets preparation, lives change. For 25 young Malaysian women, that turning point arrived not in the form of a loan or a promise, but through a scholarship that believes education should liberate, not burden. With RM1 million set aside, SAFI is once again proving that empowerment goes far beyond skin deep.
A Scholarship Built On Belief, Not Repayment
SAFI, Malaysia’s No.1 halal beauty brand, has announced the recipients of its second annual Biasiswa Siswi SAFI Scholarship Programme, awarding up to RM40,000 each to 25 exceptional female students pursuing higher education at public universities. The total funding, which reaches up to RM1 million, comes without a single repayment clause. This was an intentional move that sets the programme apart from conventional financial aid.
The scholarship was designed for women who have the talent and academic merit but face barriers such as financial hardship. Rather than adding pressure, SAFI’s approach removes it, allowing scholars to graduate free from long-term financial stress.
From 20,700 Applications To 25 Changemakers
The overwhelming response to this year’s programme tells a powerful story. SAFI received more than 20,700 applications, highlighting the urgent demand for accessible educational support among Malaysian women.
Applicants, aged between 18 and 25 with a minimum CGPA of 3.0, underwent a multi-stage selection process. Beyond academic results, candidates were assessed on motivation, leadership potential, communication skills, and critical thinking through video submissions and a structured online bootcamp. From 40 finalists, 25 were selected not just for excellence, but for resilience and ambition.
Empowerment Beyond The Classroom
What distinguishes the Biasiswa Siswi SAFI Scholarship is its long-term vision. Scholars are not contractually bound to SAFI after graduation, preserving their independence and freedom of choice. Instead, SAFI offers optional value-added opportunities such as internships and priority consideration for its Management Trainee Programme—support that complements, rather than controls, their career journeys.
This holistic approach reflects SAFI’s belief that education is not merely about qualifications, but about confidence, leadership, and agency.
Strengthening Reach Across Malaysia
To ensure the programme reached students from diverse backgrounds, SAFI conducted extensive on-ground engagement through roadshows and campus activations across the Klang Valley, Perlis, Sabah, and beyond. These efforts culminated in the SAFI Raya Roadshow, amplifying awareness and accessibility nationwide.
For SAFI, which has served Malaysian women for over 35 years, the initiative is also a form of reinvestment, giving back to the very communities that have placed their trust in the brand for decades.
A Future Written By Women
For recipients like Nur Qaidatul Anira Binti Abdullah Suwandy from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, the scholarship represents more than financial relief. It is validation that dreams matter, and that young Malaysian women are seen, valued, and supported.
As SAFI looks ahead, the brand has made one thing clear: while only 25 scholars were selected this year, its commitment to expanding impact and nurturing future women leaders is just getting started.
