Fairly safe. Recently, Kuala Lumpur was ranked 32nd among 60 other cities in the Safe Cities Index List 2021 released by The Economist Intelligence Unit (The EIU).
According to Malay Mail, the country’ capital improved slightly from the 35th position it landed back in 2019.
The EIU ranks 60 cities across the world based on 76 indicators covering digital health, infrastructure, personal and environmental security.

In the overall ranking, Kuala Lumpur scored 66.6 points out of 100 on the list.

- Sydney (Australia) – 80.1 points
- Tokyo (Japan) – 80.0 points
In the meantime, there is still a lot that our capital can improve on.
