CelcomDigi Berhad has brought its nationwide MY5G SME Digital Workshop to Kota Kinabalu, marking another milestone in helping local entrepreneurs embrace digital strategies for long-term success.

Now in its third year, the 2025 edition of the programme, themed “Scaling New Heights with Sabah SMEs,” is more than just a workshop. It’s a movement. CelcomDigi combines practical skills training, real-world networking, and on-ground support to equip Sabahan entrepreneurs to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.

This year, three exciting new experiences were introduced:
- Business Matching: Entrepreneurs can connect, share ideas, and form meaningful partnerships.
- Live Streaming by TikTok Shop: A creative platform guiding SMEs on launching their first live content to boost brand presence.
- Arena Usahawan: A one-stop hub that links entrepreneurs to financial aid, grants, and business ecosystem resources.
Each of these elements was designed with one goal in mind: to help Sabahan SMEs accelerate digital adoption and strengthen their businesses confidently.

What makes this year’s workshop truly special is its focus on Sabah’s entrepreneurial spirit. Through Skuad 5G SME Edition, CelcomDigi’s team went directly to the ground. They have visited local business owners at places like Kota Kinabalu Central Market, Gaya Street, and Segama Complex. These engagements provided valuable insight into the unique challenges and opportunities facing local entrepreneurs.
Adding to the inspiration was Adam Shamil, digital creator and Founder of Chunk & Dunk, who shared his story of how creativity, cultural pride, and digital tools turned his vision into a thriving business. His message encouraged fellow Sabahans to embrace technology while staying true to their local identity. Which is proof that digitalisation can uplift both business and community.
