WhatsApp has announced that it will stop working on some Android and Apple old phones starting from 1 November 2021. With this taking effect, users affected will no longer have access to their messages, photos, videos, or any media in the application.
The messaging platform will only support systems older than:
- Android OS 4.1
- Apple iOS 10
- KaiOS 2.5.1, including the JioPhone and JioPhone 2

To find out the version of your phone system, you can go to the ‘Setting’ in your phone and tap ‘About Phone’.
If your phone is affected, you will have to switch to a supported device or save your chat history before November.
